Just a curious question

Say if you have a dog and some days it shows interest but other days it doesn't, how long would you normally wait until you give up on it? Just curious.

How old is it?

I have a dog that will be two years old in the middle of July. But I wasn't talking about her. My dog will run track perfectly but she won't finish well. But I was just wondering for a future reference

If its a pup that's no big deal. Once a dog is a year old and has been messed with on coon and hunted right it shouldn't loose interest. But that's just me.
