Tennessee State Hunt

The Tennessee Sporting Dog Alliance will hold the second Tennessee State Championship on May 17-18. The hunt will be hosted by the Meigs County Coonhunters and will be held at the Meigs County fairgrounds. Last years hunt and show was one of the biggest in the nation and we are looking for a large turnout this year.

The format for the hunt has changed from last year. The two high scoring dogs from Friday night and the two high scoring dogs from Saturday Night will compete in a one hour hunt off Saturday night to determine the Tennessee state champion and the opposite sex winner

We are expecting great prizes and awards again this year.
Keep checking back for more updates and details

Ron I was wondering when you all were planning on sending out newsletters and also if it stated in the newsletter where the meetings and the elections are? That's what we was told last year that we would get as a member I'd just like to know why I haven't received anything?

Posted by Josh Longmire on 04-25-2013 11:59 AM:

Larry, everybody I talk to says the same thing. Like I said before I will be there to support you guys but I'll not join the alliance. I can throw 20 dollars out the window driving down there and it would do just as good. I know people who has been joined for 2 to 3 years that ain't received anything. Seems to me us members should know what's going on. I'll see you all down there.

I'd Like to know to
I called a couple of the vendors that were there last year and neither
Had been asked to attend this year.

Posted by Josh Longmire on 04-25-2013 05:16 PM:

Same thing here Kevin. I've talked to a few and they haven't been asked either.

Posted by Gang Buster on 04-25-2013 05:36 PM:

It says in the Bloodlines Book add that the State Champion has to be a member of the Tenn Sporting Dog Alliance. I don't understand that.

Posted by ssgied on 04-25-2013 05:44 PM:

I joined the sport dog alliance last year also, and haven't heard squat from them either. Thought it was going to be something good, looks like the just took our money. It wont happen twice!!

Posted by Tim longmire on 04-25-2013 05:47 PM:

That way they can charge you 20 bucks extra to pay for their time I guess I'd like to know why nobody has not received anything from them like they said.

The number one reason I joined us because they say if someone shoots your dog they will provide a lawyer to get you paid for your dog......has anyone even had to use this? I don't know haven't heard and I'd like to know if anyone has went to them with a problem like this and if they have done anything about it

So if a person wins the hunt will they not recognize the person as the State Champion if they aren't a member?

at most state events put on by the state assns, in order to be eligible for the overall prizes (show/hunt) you must be a member of the state assn. you can still win and/or place in the show and hunt but if you are not a member then you are not eligible to show for the overall show winner and if you come back with the super high score in hunt you will not be the overall winner in the hunt.

I have yet to see any evidence that the tn sporting dog alliance even exists.

I called clinch mtn and if I'm not mistaken they donated a quite a bit last year and they said no ones called them! I find that odd that you've not contacted one if not the biggest sponsor ? Don't you all rely on people like that!

Posted by Kevin37918 on 04-26-2013 12:56 AM:

How bout it Mr Stroud? What is up? Why would you not be contacting potential supporters less than 3 weeks from a state hunt?
