Hunts/shows in pa or Ohio?

Does anyone know of any hunts or shows that will be in Ohio or in Pennsylvania if anyone has and info let me know! Dates, locations, time, ect. Thanks!

Pretty much shows and hunts every Friday and Saturday from March till Thanksgiving in the area...this coming weekend and the following a little slow due to world hunt/show qualifiers in SW PA...

I couldn't stay for the hunt because I had to leave early, but I got best of class and best of breed at the bench show

They are having 2 hunts I believe thiscanthappen and next month so ill go to both of them. I'm gonna hunt my dog hard from now till then, do you have any suggestions on what to do at the hunt?

Ok my advice for ya is to just hunt your dog put a few coons out to her. Hunt with some buddies tell them you wanna act like its a hunt keep score. Read your rules and just hunt your dog and know every bark she makes.

I called ukc last week and they sent me three score cards so ill have to keep score next time, when you said out a few coon in front of her do you mean like shoot a couple out to her?

That's good. No when you take her hunting and she trees a coon shoot it out and it will put her confidence up

She will track a coon but she don't know how to finish. Like she will open up but she won't tree, when another dog is with her she will tree a little bit. I've been hunting her by herself lately and she's been running out a good distance but she hasn't done much, should I keep hunting her by herself for awhile and see what she does?

Sounds like that dog is nowhere near ready for a hunt...not being mean...but the hunts are a lot more enjoyable when you are hunting a dog that is doing what it needs to be doing...treeing coon...I would wait on then hunts till the dog was completely finished and doing it right every time you cut it loose...

And just so you know coon kill season in PA ended almost 2 months ago if you are hunting in PA...

You can always spectate on casts...if you are already at the club form the show asking you can spectate with a cast...I bet someone will surely let you tag along!...great way to learn and see what the hunts are all about....I recommend doing that a bunch before you even enter a hunt...once YOU are ready and you understand how the hunts operate and your dog is ready then its time to enter...

If everyone entered hunts that knew the rules well and took dogs that are 100% ready for the hunts this forum would be kinda boring sometimes lol...

There is a handler learning curve for sure... spectating on a hunch of casts and learning the rules helps that a lot...

Also like mauser said know the rules don't be like other people get out in a hunt and don't know the rules then try to argue with you about them when you know them. Read the rules and keep hunting your dog and get her to cranking them enter her

Mauser gave you good advice. It's one thing to know the rules, those things in black and white. It's another to see and watch them actually be applied. Like he said go along as a spectator. If you can go with the judge and watch as the rules are applied.

Also like randy said the more casts you go on the more you will know about the rules and how everything applies
