Trying to get Puppy Papers from UKC

Has anyone ever had this happen to them? I got a call today from the UKC reg dept saying they are putting my litter reg papers under review. I ask what the deal was and why. The answer I got is that they couldnt discuss it on the phone.That it had to do with something being deceased. Then tell me how we need to discuss this? I was told I could call back Friday and see if they had been processed. So I ask to speak with the head one over reg. and was put on hold and them sent to voicemail.

Not sure if it has to do with my female being 10 year old or what. But She is alive and still kicking. LOL I just hunted her last week. I have proof with video and I can even take her and hunt with a UKC Field rep if needed . I just dont understand UKC on this.

When you posted this I recalled a discussion regarding a little known "rule" on the litter form, I searched it and here is possibly the reason for the review:

Note page 4 Step 3
"Step 3 Dam’s registered name and UKC®
registration number. Indicate the Dam's registered name and UKC
Registration Number in this section. The Dam Registrant at the time of breeding as recorded by UKC
records must sign his/her name(s) as it/they appear on the Dam's Registration Certificate. Dam must be
permanently registered before the litter may be registered (permanent registration may be requested at the
same time as the litter registration application.) Note: Dam must be between 10 months and 10 years of
age at the time of breeding."

Yes That is true Chris . But I know of a stud dog on here now that was reg off of a female that was 12 when she had them .

I can name a list a mile long that knows this female is alive and well . Do they honestly think I would try some shady stuff when She and the Sire both are DNA profiled and the pups will also be DNA profiled.

I think we all know you well enough to know the breeding is honest.
In today's world of computers and computer programs being set up with settings or parameters it is likely that when they entered it in the system it flagged as an issue especially if they have a cutoff date of 10 years old set up in their system????
I was just pointing out that there was a policy and that likely explains why it is being looked at.
Good luck with the pups, I hope UKC is able to straighten the issue out for you quickly.

I bred a 14 year old male a few years ago...I had no issues.

I did read that UKC reserves the right to investigate a breeding from a male that old.

Im sure it will work out fine..

The sire is still young and My female is 10 will be 11 in Nov.

Should not matter till she turns 11 she is 10 so shouldn't be a problem

UKC questions breedings from older males and females to make sure someone didn't accidentally write in a registration number from that dog's offspring because it is at least fairly rare to use dogs that old in breeding programs. UKC is not insinuating any wrong doing. Just double checking before we issue a whole set of papers with the wrong number. You will probably just have to sign a statement that says the information is correct. Don't hit the panic button just yet.....
