If your dogs get on posted or private land. Do we have the right to go and get them.

Not even to just go get them. Ky Houndsman have tried over and over to get a Right To Retrieve Law passed but it has Failed every time.

you cant even call a cop or gamewarden to come go with you to get your dog. been there done that !! if that land owner says no, you cant go & the law cant go !!

I think you may be wrong about this game wardens can do a lot that cops can't. They don't have to have permission from the land owner. They more then likely just didn't want to help u out or thought you were trespassing.

The land owner can tell the game warden to stay out just like everyone else according to the game warden here that I talked to. Without a warrant he is bound by the same laws everyone else is, and I don't think a judge is going to give him one to get your dog. It's a bummer, but I had to leave a dog one night that I could hear plainly and put a light on in that situation.

Agreed with the above post. Get in and get out. We hear all the horror stories but night in and night out this situation happens and you just go grab the dog. No ones the wiser. Another thing I have done is make nice with the surrounding houses during the day. Most people are more reasonable at two in the afternoon than they are at two in the morning.

Agree 100%... I like to try and contact all the land owners surrounding the property I have permission for before I ever drop the first time.. and have actually gained more hunting ground that way..
