How to EASILY win a competition hunt!

There is a 3 dog nite champion cast. You are the judge, your buddy is hunting one dog, and a stranger.

You the judge are tied with your friend and the other guy is down. Make the last drop a drop the guys dog splits. You and your buddy dog tree together.

Walk to mans dog, it is a den. CIRCLE

Walk to the judge and your friends tree. Shine amd see a possum. You take a vote. Judge says its a coon. Your friend says its a coon. The stranger says. Scratch both dogs.

You the judge were ahead. The other guy did not want to be scratched so he voted coon .

Stranger goes back to pitch a fit at club. Master hounds has to go by scorecard and gave you the win. Master hounds say UKC would investigated for $20.

WHat could or will EVER happen to this 1st place win???????????

Please share how. Trying to learn up on rules.

I've hunted for awhile now and I don't guess I've EVER had a cast plus a possum.......bad things do happen and this is one of them

How about this one... 4 dog cast... you are out of your home state.. 8 or 9 hours from home... at a very large hunt... get to the woods... listen to all the others talk realize that everyone sort of knows each other except me... anyhow.. about 45 minutes into the hunt one dog withdrawls... of the dogs left it is still anyones hunt... the judges dog and the other dog is declared treed across a corn field... on our way to them I tree my dog back on the side of the corn field we just came from... by the time we get to the other two dogs tree... time had ran out on the hunt... If their two dogs has a coon hunt is over... if they are slick or circle and mine has a coon I win... well... guess what... the tree was plussed because they seen what they said was an ear in a squirrels nest.. and I was out voted 2 to 1...

Well Ricky... seems the only things you couldve done to prove your point would've been to A) do as someone above suggested.. and take a picture or film with your cell phone. B) shoot it out and take it back to the club with you.. haha..

Bottom line is.. every night I leave a hunt I can drive home (upset or not) knowing that I was 100% honest with all that I done that night.. and most of the time to the point that I cost myself points.. but I had a gentleman to say something about me just today.. and what he said was that he didn't mind getting beat by me because if I win it is done the honest way and by a coondog.. and I don't ever want to do anything to change that thought about myself.

But please understand that my good cast and hunts has out weighed the bad... but as I am gaining knowledge of how to apply the rules I look back and realize where I should have questioned this call or that call or realize that I got the wool pulled over my eyes more times then not..

the good ole "buddy system" as i call it....

ive run into that a good number of times...certain clubs are bad for it and i wont go back...

not much you can do....

and i think if you go back to the club and question it, its still their word against yours...and its 2 of them against 1 of you...you could be a sore loser trying to get a win...or they could be cheaters...no way to know..."honor rules" hard to go by honor rules sometimes when there is absolutely nothing honorable about some people....but, if those guys get multiple complaints MAYBE it will be taken care of...

i have it a lot...they will minus my legitimate dens...circle their true slick trees....

usually those guys dont got a dog worth feeding and it cant win...but they usually screw it to me so bad i dont have plus points either...frustrating..

Nothing will be done. Its a 2 to 1 vote going with the judge. Only 3 there and 2 saw a Coon.

Situations like this is more than likely the reason this rule is in place!

I have seen a lot of slick trees get plused but never a possum, somebody must have needed a win bad.

I can't recall ever reading it was against rules to do so....maybeeeeee if you used a cell phone and not a camera...but if theyd bar me for proving cheaters are cheating that'd just make me smile and take my money elsewhere...

i was refering to use of a cell phone on a cast.... dont think you can do it for this reason.... its not an emergency... not saying i agree with it just dont think it would be very smart.... proving cheaters wrong has gotten people barred before... just ask scott engle

I don't think it would get you barred, if I'm judging I'd just tell him to put it away right now. UKC has stated several times that cameras/pictures cannot be used to make your case in a question so it would be of zero value to show the pic.

One other thing, when 2 out of three say it is a coon, it IS A COON........even if it an't.

And lastly, for every two guys that see one that isn't there, you got one who says it wasn't when it really was. I don't know Ricky Hovis from Adam so I'm not about to just assume it was a possum instead of a coon. The other two will be on here this afternoon talking about the guy that tried to turn a coon into a possum.

We should take the small vidio cameras with us, it woulld be hard for someone to lie while being recorded, that would not violate any rules that I can find.

About 20 years ago, while pleasure hunting with a bunch of buddies, a critter was treed that had a possum head and a coon body. Depending on from where you were looking at it, you might have thought it a coon or possum. We had to get a very close look at it, while very odd this is very true.

They could lie like a rug and that video would not do you a bit of good.

I understand and know that your video or pictures carries no weight in a situation like this...

but something to think about... you know they make glasses now that has video recorders built into them... wonder how it would effect people and lets say the hunts if you started wearing a pair for every hunt and just recording it and then post videos on here of the situations like this and sort of let the mass here start putting pressure on people that does things like this... then it isn't my word against your word.. it will be right there for all to see.. haha.. just a thought.. sort of like policing yourselves... if UKC can't do anything about the situation because of their hands being tied.. like I said just a thought haha..

Sounds good to me.

I know a guy that hunts the other KC that always carries an extra tracking collar with him. If he believes he is being boned over on a tree, he just pulls out the collar, hangs it on the tree and tells the cheater "we'll be back here". He claims that never fails to bring out even the tiniest bit of honesty that every has somewhere in them. Whatever works........

Had a distant cousin of mine tell me last year that he was judging a Nite CH cast at the Ga Hall of fame hunt one year and a well known breeders dog treed a possum and he plussed it. Lost all respect for him after that. Said the dog was split treed across a creek and the other cast members didn't go to the tree.

I saw some posts where people were saying they hadn't ever seen anyone pluss a possum, but I was in a three dog cast once and it sure enough happened. I wrote them up to UKC, but understandably it was just my word against theirs. Its a bad break, and all you can do is make an official write up, and hope others will do the same.

X2, them ones don't care how they win or who knows how they won, as long as they got a win they can rattle off about to people who don't know, so they can beat their drum about how great the dog is when they try selling it or pups.

i've seen'm grand them out on slicks, and now they run the clubs.
