Old dog is coming 9, has been bred twice, in Oh. And we plan to use him in the near future. Joe Moyer mentioned breeding his NTCH female to him.

His pups are young, only one litter old enough to hunt, seem to have the right tools.

His sister, Dixie, is mother to Bill Hubbard's Sam dog.

She has produced some nice ones and dont see why he shouldn't.

Half brother to Big Time Albert, just a more central location.

Oh he is a NTCH.

Guess we should use something else.

The go hard get treed dogs are not what people are looking for.

Oh well, fads have never been my style. I was country when country wasn't cool.

Here is how i had a typical albert bred dog described to me....

Wild and hard going. some are so independent that they can be contrary at times. Top track dogs that can move a rough track and very accurate

Thought everyone wanted winners?

Old blood that is becoming scarce.

Pilot has placed in a couple blue hunts when he was young.

His littermate produces.

Sam son of Dixie, Pilots littermate, has won all over the nation.

Big Time Albert has won some, produced some nice ones too.

The point i was getting at is they go hard are independent and accurate... you want to win consistently thats what it takes.

I am very familiar with Big Time Albert

I have friends who have hunted against him several times. I personally have hunted with three of his offspring. Have you had the opportunity to hunt with any of them? Thanks.

Posted by byrd, lance on 04-03-2013 04:27 AM:

Sam

Are you talking about Bill Hubbards Rattling Sam? He is a nice hound I hear. He won the Ashland hunt two years in a row.

Posted by Blacklabel on 04-03-2013 04:33 AM:

Same Sam. Is momma is littermate to this dog, Pilot.

Never been with a BTA pup but heard enough from the right people we tried to breed Sams dam to him.

Food for thought....

Anyone on here can down walkers and talk all they want to but I have never seen anyone that can win with Blueticks the way I have seen coy and mark sullivan win with them wipeout dogs. In the past few weeks they have won, a truck, got in the final 23 of the nationals, and got 2 in the finals of the prohunt in oklahoma. They won about 60K with one dog in a year in 2011 and when you ask them what it takes to win they will tell you " big moter, extreamly independent, and deadly accurate". And some will disagree but not anyone that has won the way they have.

To each their own and I think you may be looking from a PKC point of view? Not sure. We will be coming to Missouri in November and I personally would like to see some of these hounds you mention go for myself. If the have what we are looking for they can certainly help us reach our goals. There just are not that many Bluetick PKC hounds where I am from. Maybe we can get together when I am up there at the bunkhouse hunt? Thanks

Posted by Blacklabel on 04-03-2013 08:56 PM:

Interesting facts.

Albert came from the north wild and crazy, they didnt believe Gary could make a dog out of him. He makes a top hound.

Albert 2, was an outstanding yound dog from all accounts. Only bred once to sister of Rambo 2.

Albert 3, from above cross. Was bred some, but nothing really promoted. BTA, was the most. Most pups went to hide hunters in the south.

Not many alive off of 3. We have 2 littermates, and there is BTA. IS ALL I KNOW OF.

These 3 hounds are some of the last old stock, as close as you can get it.

Pilot is very indepentent most of the time depending on coon and ruff dogs in cast. He is a first strike dog most of the time with a great nose that most of the walker dogs can't smell. He is a first tree dog when in good company will be by hisself if there is a ruff dog in cast. Pups I have out of him are doing great for as much as they have been hunted. Finished the male pup on the bench last month and nice tree dog. Have semen on pilot if anyone is intersted at nevergone. rich

Posted by Blacklabel on 04-05-2013 07:48 PM:

Thanks Rich.

We were talking and decided there is something to these dogs and most people dont know what they are. Not many left and thought people should know there is one in the midwest aswell.
