Slick Treeing
How do Ya'll handle slick treeing?
Do you whip the dog?
Do you lead them away from the tree and send them on?
Do you ever think you've corrected them on a tree where there might have been a coon?
Can it be corrected with out ruining the dog?
What about a dog that stays at a tree with another dog but knows the coons not there?

my opinion
Whip em and send them on. I don't mean stomp one in the ground ,just a good size switch and scold them. Walk them away from the tree in the general direction the track was headed and recast. If they return to the tree repeat the process. If you can't say for sure its slick then ill give mine the benefit of the doubt.

I had a young male with the same problem. I put an e-collar on him and would just tickle him and send him on.Seemed to work he's pretty accurate now.
Need to figure out the reason behind his slick treeing first . Is he back tracking, not finishing tracks , just treeing to be treeing , treeing squirrels ... Figure that out and it's alot easier... If the dog is smart enough to know when it's wrong then it's a dead give away usually by their locate
