hunting curs and hounds together...
i hunt several times of year with buddy tony that has 4 curs. i believe 2 are mountain and 2 black mouth. honestly dont know much about the differences in curs other than looks and some different traits.
the black dogs i hunt and bluetick are so different than the curs. like oil and water most the time. most the time we freecast seperately even if only a hundred yards apart. usually hounds dont care whats going on they cast and blast, a lot of times curs are so worried about something being different they wanna hang around handler before heading out. very very inteligent dogs the curs are and do a wonderful job but different than hounds for sure.
hounds and curs do get together on race and tree from time to time but usually its a split deal.
heres a little hunt me and buddy had where dogs all worked together well. was good time like always!!!

me and buddy tony got out with his two curs kate and marley and i hunted minn and trix. hunted a couple big areas in the daylite without anything going. had appointment with another friend right at dark so missed out dropping when temp was right above freezing. ****it anyway! LOL.
got back out for one drop late and froze our butts off, we were not dressed well!!! dogs were game though and tonys young cur marley did amazing!!! got a track going and dogs finished in concrete/junk pile. coon was in view and just out of reach of dogs and that was good.
