I use Panacur but the experts on here will tell you what they use is best.

I use CANEX or PANACUR as a multispectrum wormer, and IVOMEC as a heart worm preventative. All 3 are affordable and effective!

Drontal Plus, it's does everything but heartworms. Panicur is good but it don't get every tapeworm.

2nd question: How much do you want to Spend on a Monthly Worming Program ??

Would a Penny ($0.01) per Pound for a Total Wormer plus Heartworm Prevention be To much ??

#1.) Pyrantel Pamoate Suspension 16 oz (1 pint) .. Best price I have found Including FREE Shipping $26.75
26.75 divided by 470 ml per bottle = $0.06 per ml and equals $.0011 per mg .

Directions :

** This Dosage is only used for the First 2 Worming Treatments and every 3 month of the year their after .. The Pyrantel and Praziquantel will kill Every Canine Worm except Whipworm and the Southern Hookworm ..
at the .1 mg dosage of Ivermectin this will kill the Whipworm and the Southern Hookworm ..

Monthly Dosages After the First 2 worming treatments .
Pyrantel Pamoate Suspension : 3 mg Per Pound .. Each ml/cc = 50 mg
Praziquantel Pure Powder : 3 mg Per Pound .. 1/4 of a Teaspoon = 380 mg . Or 1 Teaspoon = 1,520 mg

The Praziquantel Kills All Types of Tapeworms And may not be needed on a monthly Bases .. Depending One the Type of Housing you dogs are in .. ie: if their on bare ground Grass/Dirt this may require Monthly Tapeworm treatment or at least bi-monthly treatments .. On Concrete housing Bi-Monthly to once every three month treatments ..

Ok I will make it really simple .. Lets say you have 5 or 6 dogs in your kennel .. and lets say there total weight of dogs adds up to around 400 pounds ..

This is what it would require for the First 2 wormings ....

25 ml of Pyrantel Liquid .. or 25ml * 50mg = 1,250 mg

1,250 mg of Parzquantel or a wee bit more than 3/4 of a teaspoon ..

and .1 mg per pound of Ivermectin X 400 = 40 mg or 4 ml/cc

Mix very well and shake each time you draw off a dosage ..

Ok your going to worm a 50# dog .. Your mesurment will be in ML/CC

and you want to deliver 4 mg per pound .. Each Ml has 50 mg of both the Pyrantel and Parzquantel and 1.54 mg of Ivermectin ..

Each Ml will Treat 12.5 Pounds so 50 Pound dog Divided by 12.5 = 4 ml/cc

Total Cost to Treat 400 pounds $4.55

Just Remember that your Going to Cut you Ivermectin WAY back after the first 2 wormings for your Regular Monthly Sch. So you would only Add 1.68 ml/cc of Ivermectin insteed of the 4 ml/cc .. This is all thats required for Monthly heartworm Prevention..

wonder how many on here are licensed vets to be giving out information on how much to give a dog.gave a buddies dog a distemper shot one time and told him what to worm with,then he goes to the vet and tells him what I did.i get a call from vet askin if I was a licsend vet I said nope he told me if I did it again he would press charges.he said I could do my own dogs but nobody elses.

As you can see above "Whipworm" ( Trichuris trichiura ) is not listed but thru some additional research I did find that Whipworm is Controled By Ivermectin at the Higher dosage of .1 mg per pound .. ****At this Dosage Ivermectin may or maynot Kill Adult Heartworm so be safe and Becareful that the Dog you are Treating is Free of Heartworms ...

Sounds like the vet was short on customers. I don't think any vet around here would do something like that. They are too busy to worry about something that petty.

This is a True story !!! about 6 months ago a Girl called me in tears !!! She said that she found my # on a posting I had made about PARVO Treatment and that She lived rather close to me ..

Well Her story went like this .. Her pup was Very Sick and She took it to a Vet near Harrisonburg, Virginia .. Well they started the pup on IV and some meds and Kept it for 2 days ( At this Time They never told this Girl anything about the Cost ) After the 2 days the Vet calls her and tells her the its not looking good for the pup but they would continue the Treatment, Then they droped the Maga Bomb on her $895 so far for treatment and to expect about that much more ..... Good Guys Hua !!

That Broke her totally and She had to pick up the pup .. Thus the Tearfull Call ...

Well I told her I would call her Back and I call My Vet that works very close with me on the Vet Stuff .. He said He just couldn't believe the other Vet would that .. Anyway he couldn't help her out because he was head to a conference that night .. But he said he would drop off Ringers and IV line sets ( which I was out of at that time ) I also need some Cerena to stop the puking .. So I treated her pup and showed her exactly what to do .. Then I had her show me that she could do it .. Now The catch is You Can Not Charge Someone for your services !! That What a Lic. Vet Does ..

By the way her Pup came back in 2 days !!

But I have Search each ingredience out to a Source and Found the Least expansive way to purchase it ..

It Very hard to find a wormer for less than 2 cents per pound that Does everything ...
