Making a Dog "Road Smart"
I have a 9 month old female that is coming on strong. Anyone have good techniques to making a dog smart around roads and vehicles?
The best way I have found is to tie her close to the road and when the car is in sight start to tone her and when the car is as close as it can be, shock her on a middle level. The bad part about this is a dog can be heavily effected by it... To the point it may not go as far as it takes to tree a coon if it needs to cross a road to get it done... Or it may not work at all when the dog is focused on getting gone... The best way is to keep an eye on your garmin and be careful.
