Three dog cast cut across field minutes up at 2.5 mins Dog A strikes for 100 no other dog struck yet swings right follows tree line and trees dogs B,C still not struck Walking to treed dog (A) and dog B opens ,Then dog C, Get two Dog A she is between two trees about 15 ft apart sitting on her butt treeing there is coons in both trees Dogs B,C come into tree next to her and judge trees dog B who gets the minus my dog because she is sitting between trees on her butt looking up or the dog that is on the tree!Dog B treed after the 5 mins was up and still scored on the same coon my dog treed?

Your dog has got to show a tree if your dog is between the two trees the judge could say it didn't show a tree did his dog do the same as yours or did his dog get on the tree

his dog hit a tree but was back and fourth to by gyp it was a lay up that is the only time my gyp wont make a tree is if she is winding one and that's what she did!I figured because she wasent on tree id get the shaft!

Afterwards judge says I haven't seen a hound wind like that in a long time she is a nice gyp!

If his dog didn't put its nose down and kept going back to the tree not alot you could do just a bad break sounds like you have a nice gyp keep after it you'll do some winning

been in 5 hunts with her and won three all firsts,she is a nice hound sometimes I believe her nose is to big for her britches but she always puts a coon on the end if she opens!

I am a little curious how far the trees were apart?
1. But the rules do state Dog must show tree.
2. Winding like she is pretty nice but I think it would only benefit you during hide season.

yeah she hasent been in many hunts just started putting her in them about 8 to 10 ft both ways both trees had coons!That tree would have gotten her first win towards grand!But I understand she should have been on the wood!Doesnt bother me that I didn't win,I know when I unsnap the lead I have a coondog!

thank about it this way a dog is called treed when the cast gets to the dog its on a fence row and the dog is treeing in a area maybe between two trees and in one direction but not on any one tree wich tree do you score

Would have much rather seen her on the wood ,but it just shows you that alone don't always win!!!!!

And the dogs was going different directions till she treed then they wanna strike in and do something!

This is the only flaw ive seen in this gyp is she will wind a coon and be right under it instead of up on the wood!Would not have been a problem if she struck it on the ground she winded these coon across a field were the wind was blowing back in your face!

it dont say in the rules that a dog has too be up on a tree. That is how picky does the judge want too get. Since she had her head up in the air treeing she is good for plus points

The judge was looking for a way to win he saw his chance and took it but that doesn't make it right

Just curious how some judges would see this!If my dog was B I would have done the same minused dog B and plussed dog A,your right Jim she was under a coon good enough in my book that is the sport right!But I understand were some would want the dog on a tree!Guess it just depends if you know your dog or not and I can take a minus cause she could get it back.it was just a bad break for her and I,but u live and learn !

had the same thing happen

My dog winded a coon, and it was in a big pine tree. My dog was on the upwind side of it about 5 to 6 feet past the lowest widest branches of the pine tree. There weren't any other trees around him, and he was standing on his hind legs treeing looking right up where the coon was. The judge minused me because he was outside the branches of the pine tree.

I didn't complain, but in that situation you always wonder what if it was the judges dog? Its also hard to swallow in my situation because the other dogs had no clue it was there and never did get on a coon.
