220 conibear and Indiana law

Been fighting with some guys over on hoosier hunting site that openly say they could care less who's dog they kill in their 220's. Pretty sure the majority of the population oposes these traps set on dry land. Just wondering who to contact and how to go about trying to get them banned unless underwater or several feet above ground?

There are ways of setting a 220 other than off the ground that will exclude dogs.

I would suggest that you contact your state coon hunting association, and ask what their policy is. Maybe, they will be willing to help, or can direct you in a better direction.

Fact of the matter trappers who make statements such as they don't care who's dog gets killed are real trappers worst enemy. It is those individuals that will result in the complete loss of some very good tools if not their whole sport.

Personally, trappers and coon hunters need each other as allies. It bothers me when some knuckle heads on one side or the other don't know any better, but to let their mouths spew nonsense.

Indiana trapping law states no body gripping traps set on land NOT to have a jaw spread larger than 7 1/2 " ( square ) or lager than 8 " round Otherwise the trap MUST be completly submerged in water !!

If you know they are trapping in an area, don't go to those woods. You are never going to stop illegal trapping.

or anything else illegal for that matter.
