? for Allen or UKC?

Is it acceptable to use a hunt timer app on a smart phone during a hunt? First of all I know that people have misinterpreted the cell phone rule......but I also understand why it is in place, to keep the integrity of the hunt in tact. This app would make judging and time keeping easier but wanted to check with someone before assuming it is acceptable, again realizing some competition hunters will say something when a phone is out, but if UKC stamp there approval then I will use it. Thank you for reading and responding.

Curious hunter,
Brian

Unless, they recently changed their ruling, you can't use a cell phone to keep time with during a cast.

Brian, for the now, we have discouraged their use because of the cell phone restrictions. However, it is one of those items we are looking into when it comes to the next rules changes.

Thanks

Allen,

Just my two cents, if the use of cell phone is the issue.....you can always require cell phones to be in airplane mode, meaning apps work but incoming or outgoing communications! Thanks again, hope this idea gets the ample amount of consideration.
