Ukc needs to do something...

Several of the clubs I attend have raffles to make money and what not which is fine and dandy but when the entry dead line is 7 o'clock and they don't draw cast out until after 8 it's getting ridiculous!!

and just how do you suppose they do that..... ukc does not own the people the club or anything there they just sanction the hunt.... get over it or dont go.... why has such little crap got to be such a big deal to some

I go because I enjoy it I win more than my share and usually pack a decent dog I just don't like sitting in the clubhouse for an hour and a half after deadline to wait around for the draw? I don't know what anyone could do to change it but it needs done!

Lisbon rqe??? That was a mess....ive never waited so long for casts to be drawn..thankfully my cast was 2nd or 3rd drawn...

There was a mad rush for tickets after deadline...didnt matter..cards were nowhere near started by that point anyways lol

Here's an idea.
UKC has a new 'In My Opinion' Column in CB. Write in for it and get your suggestions heard. Also, mention it to the club! If they get enough people complaining maybe they'll change thing up.

Complain to UKC and get the raffles shut down so the club doesn't make enough money to pay its bills. That way it has to shut its doors and then you won't have to worry about it anymore!

Nat I'm not saying they shouldn't have them I run a club myself... I just think everyone should draw ticket all day long right up until deadline draw out time not for an hour after

Common sence!!!!!!!

When the MOH or hunt director calls that entries are closed, the ticket or tickets need to be drawn right then by someone not involved in helping set up the score cards for the cast. The clubs need to have raffles but be more efficient. It's common sence.

I view these raffels as a way to help the club, I do it to help them out, not thinking I would win it any way. if it is a big enough deal maybe they should just draw them at the deadline of the cast draw.

The reason for the delay at Lisbon was because the MOH never had guides, judges and dogs who needed to be separated, separated. It was a mess. I watched the whole thing. At deadline he had a stack of 64 entries that he needed to go through and separate.

To top it off, casts were drawn and judges were assigned LAST!

UKC needs to start holding MOH and HD seminars at the big hunts to teach so
these people how to draw casts.

Over the last 6 years I've been in the hunts, I have seen 25% of the MOH draw casts the way it says to do it in the rule book and that is a fact!

EMBARRASSING!!!

Always always gota blame the MOH or a club official!! I wish everyone got to be a MOH at least one time with 64 dogs and probably only 6 guides and 2 owners of 6 different dogs that wait till the last min to say oh draw us out seperate, Just so they could get a taste of what it's like, oh, and most bench shows are a hour before the hunt deadline and if you have a decent amount of dogs to show then you get 64 entries dumped on you in 15-20 min before deadline , it makes such as easy job .Step up to the plate since you have read and understand the rule book so well , And then you can take the bashing your giving out!!!! RETIRED MOH been there done that!!Next you will be saying that the Prayer and National Anthem take too long,Geezs fellas no one wants you in the woods quicker than the MOH !!!

I haven't seen a MOH yet hold a stack of that many entries without having guides/judges separated until saturday night. I understand its difficult with 64 dogs, but guess what? The club signed up for the RQE and should EXPECT that many dogs. UKC approved them and approved the MOH. the MOH agreed to do the job when the club asked him. Didn't he check CHB to see it was an RQE and the club got all of the hunt materials?

Shouldn't the guides be lined up already for a big hunt like that?

Why such a strict deadline when everyone dilly dallies around after deadline?

Why didn't anyone from the club step up and take charge of finding guides/judges?

I noticed 2 men from the club start to help AFTER the MOH was ready to start sticking slips...

I am not placing all of the blame on 1, but it was a team effort in this case.

If I were a MOH and was afraid of 64 entries or lack of guides or dogs needing to be separated, I wouldn't have signed up for the job in the first place, right?
