UKC Announces Winter Classic to Remain in Batesville, MS

Kalamazoo, Michigan, March 7, 2013 – United Kennel Club officially announces plans to hold their 2014 Winter Classic coonhound event in the town of Batesville, Mississippi. The 2014 event will be UKC’s 27th Annual Winter Classic, and marks the second time the event will be at the Batesville location.

The perfect location to host a National level coonhound Nite Hunt and Bench Show is hard to find. It must blend excellent hunting, an excellent satellite club network, generous community support and an outstanding facility. This facility allows UKC to take the event to a new and unprecedented level.

The inaugural Batesville event, the 26th Annual UKC Winter Classic in 2013, garnered a positive response from competitors. Club and guide support was equally encouraging. The central location makes the hunt more accessible than ever before, and the Batesville Civic Center offers a stadium atmosphere never before experienced in the sport. It is UKC’s goal is to propel Winter Classic into a coonhound event unlike anything else available.

Established in 1898, the United Kennel Club is the largest all-breed performance-dog registry in the world, registering dogs from all 50 states and 25 foreign countries. More than 60 percent of its 15,500 annually licensed events are tests of hunting ability, training, and instinct.
