Dont need it when you have 125 in place ..... not to mention that if someone trees second they should get second not have the option to take last

I am all for it. If your dog takes 4 minutes and 45 seconds to get there he don't deserve 2nd tree.

I got a pretty good dog had a blast making him a night champion. Then came the tasking of trying to make him Grand ? There are some slick handlers that will uncover a dogs faults quick. For instance as a night Ch. hunting an RQE 1st tree I had 3rd strike and 1st tree ( other 3 running coyote ) 2 quit came in to tree with seconds left and got points . After gathering the other one up turned loose again and I got scratched for fighting ( the coyote special was at this one). Next day I owned the meanest dog in the state.
Next hunt 2 dog cast everything going good scored 2 coons then turned loose and my dog treed the other dog came on the wood. I asked the handler if he was going to tree him and he replied I need to be sure he is right?? 2 seconds left is when he was right by then both dogs blowing pretty good when we scored the tree I was waxing him pretty good and handler asked have you ever been scratched for fighting.I withdrew my dog (who had treed all the coons we scored that night) we did not see another coon that night. However the me too bandit got a nt. ch. win. With a count down he could not afford to wait and play his game. Instead of 175plus laying back he could have only gotten 50 plus.

you can bet if that was the.case i would rather have 25 vs 75 but dont think you should be abel to choose what tree position you get

If the tree is slick why is your dog covering. And why should my dog tree a coon 1stand and your dog covers at 4:45 and still get rewarded for 75

everybody that wants a count down on the tree like pkc whats your thoughts on a track countdown... why should a dog that waited 5 minutes to strike recieve 75 strike points.... i mean really the strike is just as important as the tree in that kc... yall folk getting beat by me too dogs dont need a rule change if it happens often

If my dog shows up after 4 minutes and 45 seconds I probably will be scratched and wrote up because one rule that will be broken is the rule about punishing a dog.

Dogs striking few minutes before other dogs even after the minute gone doesn't mean they are babbling. doesn't happen alot but does. As far as the count down I like it. If mine can't get treed in that first minute I most likely don't want him there by 4.45. In the right cast can get that honest1st 2nd strike and lonely for 1st. I like that the best, and want the me to dog counted down to 25 before he can get there, don't want them getting any more than that rather they don't get there at all but I'm selfish LOL.

Dont make too much sense to me. The dogs might not all strike the same track. If they mee too they are on the same tree!

taking a fouth place slot for a second place finish doesnt make much sense to me either.... my kick with the count down is not them being able to get 75.... its being able to use it to take 25.... thats how it will be used the most... i promise you if mine aint first or just a few barks behind i will be useing it that way if they go to a count down

I'd rather have one bark a little loose than one that runs around covering everything all night. Least at the end of the night I might have a coon dog instead of one that stands out there 200yds and waits for one to bark

It will get used that way but if your dog is treeing coons it wont matter because they're only getting 25 to your 125.

Not for a count down in UKC. You already get 50 more points than the 2nd dog treed. I've been at this quite a while and casts are normally won by the dog that gets the most 1st trees provided it doesn't take some minus along the way.

the dog that always strikes first and covers for 75 is still gonna cover for 75 a count down isnt gonna hurt a good me too dog.... its just another tool to keep your minus in check... for the record i have been beat by a me too dog and didnt like it a little bit but if it happens often then i need to assess what im hunting
