I want both but would buy one that was not SS. I would not buy one that was not PRP.

I don't hunt PKC so it doesn't matter to me about the super stakes but I do want it to be performanced.

Performance points are hardly worth enough to interest me anymore . For the money u put in the payout is a joke

here is a little info for this question we just breed my male which is not ss but is a performance sire to a super nice female and the young that breed her and myself was just wondering if he should go ahead a do the 200.00 superstakes fee for the litter. then that would make the performanced and ss.

If you want to SS them for your own use, then I would say go for it. I don't think you will command much if any higher of a price for your pups by paying up SS.

Posted by Bobby Reynolds on 03-05-2013 07:12 PM:

I want them Super Stakes and Performanced if possible. But I will not let it bother me one bit if it was neither and it was from the right cross. But it would have to be what I thought was out of something very special.

Posted by GA DAWG on 03-05-2013 07:16 PM:

Id rather have both. It's seems like to me its kinda a breed thing. Why is that? Lots of blue studs. Yet only a handful are SS. I can't figure it out. Im not going to hunt enough Ukc hunts to care about performance. If my club didn't have them. Id done be done with them.

I wonder what % of Super Stakes pups actually go to the Super Stakes.

Performance points is paying back less now then a cast win at a PKC $25 hunt. I paid a litter up SS for my self and tried to get as many as the pups to people that would pay them up. 2 are MIA 1 that got paid up is being used on bears. One that got paid up got hit by a car. What I'm getting at is if you want a SS pup pay it and don't count on the people that you sell pups to pay theres up SS. Don't think you will make $200 more because they are SS.

Posted by Dogwhisper on 03-05-2013 08:28 PM:

PRP for me .
Of all the SS pups I have had none have I took to the SS.
PKC just does not hold my interest. I'll dabble in it but it's no priority for me.

Posted by shawnstovall on 03-05-2013 09:21 PM:

hey guys thank you for your committs he is not trying to get more out of the pups he was just trying to figure out if people would like to have the ss as well as performanced he was just wondering. myself i don't care either way i don't go to the super stakes or do i hunt in any pkc hunts.

That's exactly the way I see it too! Not many PKC hunts around here anymore and it's not worth driving 200 miles to one. SS would be like driving to the other end of the earth for me.

If you have a young dog that is really doing well between 12 months and 24 months old that is not SS, you sure will wish that it was. There would be a couple thousand dollars difference in the sale price.

Posted by Jared Luttrell on 03-05-2013 10:48 PM:

Exactly Phil, I personally would not buy a pup not performanced or super stake not that I have hunted any at super stake but I have got plenty of young dogs there money won to qualify them, some where to to super stakes some where never entered in another pkc hunt in there life but least was eligible to be. That's reason I want them super staked so incase I get that SPECIAL one and when do I will be there I can betcha that. That's just my 2 cents worth. Thanks

That same 1% or less never see a Ukc hunt either. Course your not going to spend 250 a night to hunt a think I can dog at the SS your wanting to carry a stem winder. So you might as well have one to fool with that's what you want it to be. Never know when that big time pup might show up Ain't happened to me in 10 ys.So Im due!

That is why they are able to give about $10000 to each division's winners. Heck a double cast win at the ss would pay for stud and whole litter to be paid up! Lol I do not see how a $100 or $200 prp program interests some more than a multi thousand dollar program! Where did ya'll get your math education? I guess that's why we are ranked near #20 in the world for math and science performance!

How many of you have even hunted a dog in SS. How many have won it! Seem to me your better off playing the lotto! You can win your fees back of you hunt reg PKC...UKC can be a diff story. I had a dog that won a first in a bigger hunt and I sold that dog. At the end of the year ukc sent me a 125 Chk. Not much I know!

I know it ain't much but I wished Jake was performanced. I would have had a $500+ check coming to me, better than nothing ;-(

First of all, how many super stakes pups will you have to pay up and spend countless hours on before getting one worthy of taking. Then you have to take a week off of work and travel, racking up food, hotel, and gas bills. Then you acutally have to win 2 casts which only 1 in 8 that attend can do. Big $ going out with a slim chance of any coming in.

Or I can pay $30 to pay up a performance pup, hunt at the local club where I'm going to hunt anyway and possibly get a few hundred $'s in return for doing nothing extra.

My math tells me it's a no brainer to have a performance pup while many things need to be considered before investing in a super stakes pup.

I don't do any math at all. I just pay up everything for both and still end up culling most of them. It's just money.
