Old Fashioned Bluetick Get Together Roberta, Ga.

Saturday, March 16th at the Flint River Coon Hunters Club-BBCHA will play host to our UKC events at the 3rd annual Old Fashioned Bluetick Get Together. This is an oppurtunity to visit, look at dogs and compete if you feel like it. The Roberta Club just keeps getting better just as this get together does. Come on out and help us create some more good memories.

We're looking forward to seeing a bunch of Bluetick folks at this event! Come on out, it will be a great time!

Mother Nature

Looks as if Mother Nature is going to cooperate this year for our events. We had a good rain last night and the predictions for the weekend look good. The leaves are not out yet so there will not be as many excuses. I am looking through old stuff for material that many of you may have heard of but never actually seen. Brought a few things to the 1st one of these we held. This hunt, it's name and the location of the hunt are all a deliberate attempt on my part to hold onto and firmly establish for some of the newer Bluetick men that fraternal spirit that has existed here among many of us and in other parts of the country. Our Southern brand was the first experience for me. Prior to moving to Texas I had read about the hunters from the South West and then was fortunate to live out there for three years. My trips north of the Mason Dixon line and into the middle parts of this once proud, free, liberty loving nation have made me appreciate each areas own style of hunting with our Blueticks. If you can come and enjoy it with us please do. If not then by all means do so in your own area while you still can.

Thr Roberta Club will do its best to roll out the red carpet for each and everyone of you that can make it out for our annual hunt. If your wives wish to tag along and do not care to stay at the grounds just down the road in Macon the Cherry Blossom Festival is taking place. This is a huge event and is often featured on national television-just saying. Remember those Blueticks wishing to compete for King or Queen of hunt or show must have owners who are current members of BBCHA. I will have membership cards with me for all who want to sign up. I will also be glad to sign any of you up at any other time,too. Great weather, great food, and a great time-hope to see you there.

Tomorrow is the big day! I hope many Bluetickers have made plans to join us, if for nothing more than to sit around and visit.

Our Queen of show is Ch Dust Till Dawn Maggie, David or Travis Thomas, handler Kris Callahan. King of Show-Posion Whiskey Hello Darlin, Jestin O'Conner and handler Scarlett Overton. King of Hunt is Hi Performance Blue Boss II, Thomas Yawn. The Queen of Hunt is Snyder's I Love Lucy, Jamie Snyder. The Grand Ch female winner was Gr Ch Nt Ch Uchtman's Chantilly Lace, Dale Parker. Ch male was Ch Dust Till Dawn Bo, Thomas or Travis Thomas, handler Kris Callahan. This is an oppurtunity for me to brag on the host club Flint River Coon Hunters-everything just keeps getting better and better. The club supplied us with great guides and appointed good, honest, and fair experienced judges who put people in a position to tree coons. The clubhouse is a big time improvement over their old location and the KITCHEN is fast gaining a well deserved reputation for cranking out the vitels-we had some people come by just for the meal. My only complaint is the dessert-they keep insiting on sharing it with everyone. I just about had to tackle Dale Parker to get the last batch of it from him. Good time folks-plan on joining us next year-THANK YOU!

The last 3 of these events have been attended by a virtual who's who of the Bluetick world. I will post the times of the events and directions to the club. On March 8th the Roberta, Ga. club will hold a UKC World Qualifying Hunt. Our hopes are that you will bring your Blue dog down, qualify one weekend and come back to hunt in our Bluetick Get Together the next weekend on the 15th. This club has worked hard to get this qualifier back and has done one great job putting on our Bluetick hunts. Let us know on here about your plans to attend the 4th annual Old Fashioned Bluetick Get Together. Chances are you will get your picture made at least once while you are there.

Just got my new Bloodlines today and our hunt is listed but is not shown as a BBCHA event. So it is up to us to get the word out. Please make a note of this and plan to attend on March 15. 2014. Thank you!

Joe I am not sure of the actual release date on the new Bluebook. I do know that the people in charge are working hard right now because I have heard from all of them-I think. This edition should prove to be another classic for all BBCHA members to enjoy for years to come. A big thank you to everyone that makes this possible for all of us to enjoy. Photos from last years event in Roberta are included. We will be taking them again at this years event. I try to get a group shot every year as well. Look forward to seeing a bunch of you there March 15th.
