Broken Tri-Tronics Classic 70
I have an old Tri-Tronics Classic 70 shocker. The collar wont take a charge but the reciever unit still works and takes a charge. Can you still get collar units that would still work with the same reciever?
To answer your question, yes, but not knowing how old the unit is, they may have to be found used.
If the collar will not take a charge, you may just have a bad charger or perhaps the battery in the collar needs to be replaced.
What are the specific details of your unit?? EXACT model #, how many dog unit is it? Does the collar have a light on it that should illuminate when plugged in the charger? Does the transmitter do the same?
When you say "receiver", that is the term used for the collars, not the transmitter.
COLLAR CLINIC MAY BE ABLE TO FIX IT FOR U.I'M LOOKING FOR A FIELD 70 COLLAR LOST MINE IN WOODS....CLINIC SAID THEY DO NOT HAVE THEM AND TRI-TRONIX DOES NOT HAVE THEM EATHER.

tri tronics keeps any parts for units that are 7 yrs old and older
I've also got a Classic 70 outfit I bought new around 10-12 years ago. I've probably had it repaired by Collar Clinic 2-3 times since then. Recently, the collar got so it wouldn't operate on the high setting and then it got so the next highest wouldn't work.
YOu can buy a replacement battery for your collar from Collar Clinic for $24.95. You can have them repair it for $125. IMO, both options are high and in my experience, about half the time the unit won't even work when I get it back.
So, I looked around and bought a replacement battery off Amazon.com for $12.40, shipped. Changing it amounted to removing 4 screws, unplugging the old battery. Very simple. My outfit now operates, as good as new.
The description of what I bought is:
"HQRP Battery compatible with Tri-tronics 1038100 1107000 CM-TR103 1038100-D 1038100-E 1038100-F 1038100-G Replacement fits Remote Controlled Dog Train"

Is collar clinic the cheapest or best place to send one for repairs?
