Chaps on Lace-up boots. ( Picture)
I made a pair of Lace ups a couple years ago with chaps attatched and I loved wearing them. I've worn them out now and I still don't see any boot maker doing it.... Here's a pic of mine:
I cut my chaps off some worn out Mucks and glued them to the lace ups. Mine would work for a month or so , then I'd get a small leak around the seam. I never did get them to stay waterproof over a long period, but man , these things were COMFORTABLE to wear.
The only drawbacks I had was keeping them waterproof and they were sopme trouble to get on and off and get the laces tied. You had to roll up the chap bottoms to tie the laces... and it is kinda hard to seal around the boot tongue for waterproof.
I dunno why some of these boot/chap makers havn't came up with a way to make a lace-up boot work in some way ? Maybe a zipper over the boot laces would help in getting at the laces to tie them ?.. and there has to be a way to seal the boot tongues better than I did it.
There is NOTHING as comfortable as a good lace up boot and I think they would sell like hotcakes if someone figured out how to get it done.
