Can I hunt?

I recently got a new dog and have not sent off the paper work, can I hunt this dog in a hunt before processing the paperwork or how does this work?

Also, I have a younf red dog, can you bench show and not hunt?

Any one with answers, please help

If you know it's reg number sign up and pay $5.00 extra.

Do you have permanent registration papers from UKC for the dog?

hunt

I have his UKC and PKC papers, I have not had a chance to have the transfered to my name

Write down the UKC number and send the papers in.
You can pay the extra $5 conditional entry while you wait to get the papers back in your name.

You don't technically even have to know it's registration number. If you do it will help us a lot when we go to process the report. However, do not ever guess as to what the UKC # is. It's better to not have one than to have the wrong one.

When you enter you will have to put the previous owner down as the owner on the entry slip and you as the handler. Try to get the name to as accurate as you can on the slip as well. If you have the UKC # written down somewhere (which I suggest you do before you send the papers off) put it down as well. You will have to pay the additional $5 conditional entry fee to get entered. Even if you have the previous owner's Easy Entry card you have to pay the $5 for a conditional entry. You cannot enter a dog with an old Easy Entry card. You may use it for your own records though to make sure the information is correct on the entry slip.

Remember, though, the dog must be permanently registered to be entered in any event. You cannot, under any circumstances, enter a dog that still just has it's puppy papers.

Hope this helps you out!

Thanks for the answer. Somehow I missed that part of the question.

You may enter any event you wish and not enter others. Each event has it's own deadline and entry fee. If a club is holding a Nite Hunt, Bench Show, Field Trial, and Water Race all on the same day you can chose to enter just one event, or all the events, or just a couple. It all depends on what you want to participate in and how much you want to spend in entry fees.

You can enter every event with papers not in your name or no papers at all, you just have to pay the $5 conditional entry.

How many times do you think a guy has shown up to a club a little distance from his house to hunt and realized as he was trying to enter that his Easy Entry card was at home? I've been there and have even had guys riding with me that have done this exact thing. Now for $5 extra, those guys can enter as a conditional entry.

x2. Why can't i just be handling a dog registered to another person without paying extra?

If you're just handling a dog for someone you don't have to pay the extra $5. If the dog has been sold and the papers have not been transferred, or if the papers are at UKC getting transferred, or you just forgot to bring the Easy Entry card or the dogs papers the you have to pay the conditional entry fee. It used to be if any of those three thing were true you just didn't get to enter.
