Four yr. break

Finally getting back to coonhunting . It's been 4 or so years . Had alot of things going on . Just kinda lost the desire till last sat. night . Had a old hunting buddy call and see if I wanted to go . Went and on the first strike and tree I thought to myself , man I forgot just how good it was to hear
that sweet music of the hounds running and treeing . I see theres been some new tools introduced sence I gave it up . First of all garmin was just getting ready to be introduced then the Led lights and who knows what . Funny thing is at 2006 PKC world hunt a friend and I were discusing how nice it would be to have a light with no belt batteries , everything on the hat . Didn't realize how soon someone would come out with them . Anyhow it's great to be back in the fine sport of coonhunting .

Welcome back Mr. Kelley

My story is similar to yours, but I have been away from the sport for 10+ years. I didn't hunt after my old dog passed away. Too much going on with family and raising kids put coonhunting on the back burner.

Imagine what it was like when I returned a year ago to find this "new" tracking unit called a "Garmin" and LED cap lights! Heck, handheld GPS to keep you from getting lost was barely on the scene ten years ago. Belt lights with the 5100 wheat head were the rage when I quit hunting and the Tracker Maxima was the "Cadillac" of tracking technology.

Again, welcome back. Were you the same Mr. Kelley who owned the Pill dog back in the day?
