Kids and the lack of hunting time...
Anybody else out there have kids that are involved in all kinds of things where it seems like all you do is take them to practice or meetings or other commitments? I get tired of going everywhere but I do enjoy watching them enjoy themselves though. I understand that there needs to be a balance that your family can live with. The kids don't seem to be overly busy but I sure seem to be and my hunting time suffers. I am going to have to sell a few dogs as a result. When I really stop to think things over though dogs and hunting don't even come close to being as important as making my kids happy.

I'm with you, kids have way more activites now days than when I came up, shoot, when I played base ball I had to ride my bike if I was going to play.
Whew i hear ya on that one, i have four kids and three are hard core into sports in all seasons lol....I still get to hunt but not like i'd like too, I mix it up with sq and coon hunting so i get some woods time and then the kids like to deer hunt (which i could care less bout lol) so i do that also, but its all in good fun i guess
Gotta make sure the kids come first. Mine are 24 and 21. My daughter just graduated college and is coaching the high school team. I thought I was through with the ball thing but I guess it's going to continue on....and I'm glad of it.
We played over a 100 games a year and between church, sports, school, etc. hunting took a back seat. I generally hunt 5 nights a week but during that time there were a lot of 11 o'clock 1st turnouts.
Seems like just a week or so since mine were starting school. I promise it is the time you don't spend with them that will hurt....you won't regret a minute that spend with them.
