All Grand Pedgree question?

what makes a pup off a all grand pedgree better than a pr dog? I was just thinking, dogs dont know weather there a Grand or not, I know it looks good and all if a all grand stud is bred a thoulsand times and has twenty pups make fine hounds, then ol brumy chained up behind Bubbas house is bred five times and has twenty pups make fine hounds his percentage is way better, but guys wont hardly hunt the pups off brummy becaulse he's not all grand, but they will drag those all grand pups around happy if they will get out of their light, while brummys pups are running and treeing coon.

on the other hand we will breed to old dead hounds semen that wernt all grand but were coon hounds that reproudced coon hounds and pay alot of money for a pup off them becaulse they came from coon dogs not breeder dogs.
it just seems to me that were caving in to these blown up adds more than breeding to proven reproudcers, like name dropping, my dog is off _______. like that makes it a coon dog.
you can look at hunt results and see most of there blown up studs are not proudcing winners per number of pups on the ground.
yes I'm board here at work.

supply and demand....people will always supply what sells....as long as there is a demand-as in people buying...there will be people filling the orders.

allgrand

Allgrand doesnt mean theyll be a coondog!! But think back 20 yrs ago and people were looking at how many gr or nt. Ch. In papers. If most dogs make it theyll find there way to the hunts. And then u got the few behind the barn pr. Dogs that dont see a hunt but will tree those racoons! U could argue this till the cows come home!! Lol

had an all grand dog that couldnt even compare to my pr female. Both out of the same stud dog! Bought both at 8 weeks old all grand male paid 500 for and just sold for 600 over 2 years later! Lmao!
All grand just means his ancestors were taken to more hunts and not a thing more
that all grand dog was just straight dumb~could tree an easy coon but not a coondog.
Female on the other hand is a tough bitch 2 beat and is all coondog!

if their ancestors were even taken to a hunt. It's a sad truth but you have to know some all grand pedigrees were made with a few hounds doing the hunting under different names at different clubs.

Ability and traits should be the main FOCUS, not names or titles on a piece of paper. Don't get me wrong I love a nice set of papers, and wouldn't mind having a super nice ALL GRAND COON-DOG, but then again I could care less what it was out of as long as it suits ME! You can't load a set of papers up and hope to tree a coon. Although, big names and GR NITE titles on a piece of paper may SELL, it still don't make it a COON-DOG.

we really should start breeding for coon hounds instead of papers, imo

I've never had an all grand. Im just a hunter. Not a breeder. I've had lots of dang PR pups though. Not many of them have turned out either. Heck Im thinking of trying an all grand. Can't be no worse!
