Chuck - Try going on the rabbit dog site. They are used quite a bit in Michigan on snowshoe and related hare.

I've used Harriers back in the day on hare..Too fast to run cottontails but they sure can smoke a deer..

A buddy of mine has a pack of them and another pack of half harrier and half english that will flat smoke a deer. We tried a couple of cotton tail, but run to fast for them.

Like a Beagle, only a little taller.

Posted by chuck west on 01-21-2013 04:07 PM:

Yeah they look like a Beagle on steroids or a Walker that was a runt,,pretty sharp looking hound really. I was really wanting to find out if anyone has used them on bobcat or coon,,Do they have enough speed and treeing ability for cat and coon. Heck I've seen one strain of Beagle that would run and tree coon.

About the Harrier

Sorry to reference the "other" registry, but here is a link:

http://www.akc.org/breeds/harrier/index.cfm

The Harrier is almost the least common breed in the registry, 2nd only to the American Foxhound, with only 172 puppies registered last year.
