Va CHC's

Over the past year mainly showing and doing some competetion hunting I have been to several hunt clubs. I have met some real nice and knowledgeable people while being there.
The one thing I have not seen that I remember 15 years ago or more is the turn outs. I can remember when I was younger it seemed like everyone brought there dog out for every event from field trial to water races. I do not see these events alot of times at the show/hunt.
Are the entries not there to support it?
I have heard many people comment that the other events other than the hunt ruin dogs, I tend to think that they help keep your dog in shape much as a wide receiver catches the foot ball even during the off season to stay in shape.

I have belonged to hunt clubs where you have the same few people that coordinate everything and the rest are there for themselves, that is why I do not belong to any.

I would like to find a club with people willing ti try to make things better and make it a day event with field trial, water races, shows and hunt.

The one's that have been at this alot longer than me might have some insight on what can be done here. I think it would help promote the sport as well as the clubs.

Anyone other than me ever wonder about this and what can we do to help?

Anyone know of any clubs in Virginia that do hold all events?
I have only been to one that does and would like to find others close to Roanoke and join one.

I have seen them in the upcoming events, just a long way to drive for a day.
Thanks for the reply.

Guess I am hoping to find a club close and maybe joing and work towards bringing some of the events back.
As I said been out of it a while so not for sure why it dropped off.

tri county

Tri county has some good all day stuff but never have night hunts due to lack of guides. It would be nice if they could have a couple.

I have been to Tri-county and they are fun. They are about an hour and half from me. I enjoy it up there and would like to find some little closer or try to help some get more events.

Never have seen them have all events listed. That is only 10 minutes from the house. Ususally just bench shows and hunts listed. I will have to give him a call. Thanks
