Va Hunting Season

How has the hunting season been for folks hunting in Va? My brothers and I had a great December and the first 3 days of the New Year was great as well, meaning we were seeing the meat, however the past 4 nights we have not seen a coon! It seems the tracks are really cold and the dogs never really got satisfied with a tree. We did tree in one big cedar and one big den but had two slicks I'm sure of. How is everyone elses luck been?

Just got in. put three on the outside tonite. Been hit or miss here in the mountains. I thank the warmer weather got them moving some. Pretty sure two were females and the other was a boar. Old boy didn't no how to act with that many coons tonight. Glad I had my pup with me she learned alot tonight.

Went last nite put one up at 1.9 from the truck. But the funny thing was he took off around the rige I hopped in the truck and went around the road. When I got out to start into him. I heard two of them across the creek not even 100 yards away chattering and chasing each. Go figure. I listen to them for a good 15 min. All I can say that old boy must have had a ball.

Fsifa142, if you don't mind me asking, where you been hunting at? I understand if you don't want to say. I'm in churchville and have been goin up on cold springs. I haven't been out much due to my old dog havin surgery recently but the last time I went bout a week ago I wasn't having much luck. My old dog had been striking around the creeks and ponds but other than that nothing. Had a couple dens that's bout it. I'm goin to try and hit it hard this weekend with my young dogs. One of them is starting to come on strong.
