these apply to the conformation ring but there are some good things in them that can also apply to bench shows.

I agree..

I enjoy reading and studying the types of articles written by Mr. Beauchamp. I feel any/all advice is helpful if you present it the correct way.

One thing that jumped out at me was about the "Cardinal Sins of Movement" - because I agree that not all dogs will be entering the rings with tails up, etc. but can move correctly and I fully understand that it is that judges opinion that day but at Autumn Oaks 2012, I was told by the judge that because my dog did not have their tail up while gaiting, he chose the other dog. Like I said, I completely understand that it was his opinion and I've accepted it, but I hope that other judges (and exhibitors) read these very helpful and informative articles.

Ive been told that too in the conf ring! Elvira does not like being inside and will not hold her tail up. they said she had no personality! tell that to those that know her!!!

I was told one time T need more confidence lol.... I about laughed when the judge said that. He lacks a lot of things but confidence is not one of them lol.....

Those have got to be some of the most lame excuses for not picking a dog.We are showing what are still hunting dogs not Foo-Foo dogs.
I guess the judge could not come up with a better difference of the contenders so they needed to make one up.STUPID.
That is one of the reasons I dislike going to the big ones.You drive all that way ,gas,motels ,entries, etc. and you get a lame reason like that.
Judge the correctness of the dog.Not how prim and fluffed it looks.I will say a dog that does not gait is harder to check for movement but I will not over look it just because of that if it is the best dog structurally.
How about the excuse the toe nails weren't trimmed.I got that one once.
Or the I just couldn't resist picking that cute little girl.I got that one too.
GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!
