why pine/hemlock trees?

i cant seem to get my dogs away from pine/hemlock trees. i was wondering if anyone had any ideas why coon are so atracted to them. i have shot some monster coon out of them. so i do know there is coon there. and i just cant figure out why they go to these type of trees.
