Garmin Problem ?
I have the Alpha and when I mark the truck and go to the tree, I try to go back to the truck and the arrow points in the wrong direction. It will say the truck is in the opposite direction. Sometimes re-calibrating will help sometimes not. it will lock up and the arrow will not move at all. Anyone have this problem and if so what did you do to fix it?

have you hooked it up to your computer and check if there was a software update? Bought mine 2 weeks ago and there was an update available so i installed it.....never tried it without the update though.
The first update that was released for the Alpha was designed to fix the problem you are experiencing. A lot of the Alpha's had problems with the compass locking up and not showing the right direction. The update fixes that and I haven't had a problem out of the compass since installing it.

that arrow can be a little aggravating at times while walking anyway, i like to put the cursor on my destination and watch the yardage counter at the top. If the yardage is counting down, you're going the right way. this also helps so that you don't have to stop periodically to let the arrow reset. hope this helps
thanks
I went on and installed the updates and will see if that will work thanks for the information guys. Also i never thought about the yardage. good idea
