Garmin question

My garmin will not track my dogs, but my buddys garmin will, mine will track his dogs. I have updated both the unit & collars, I first thought it may be an issue with the collars itself but since my buddys garmin tracks my dogs I have ruled that out. any info will be appreciated.

try removing the collars from the handheld and then put them back in.
