pr or all grand?

What do yall like? Me personally finaly found me a big name ped dog a few months back but.befor then I always owned mostly pr ped dogs that went back to lipper, lipper Jr etc just had better luck and less true culls out of them this nailor southern country rock pup I have is comeing along nice got the old school looks good nose bawl on track and not tree happy just took five big name ped dogs to find one that really had what I was raised huntind in them the others were hot nosed never check themself just slammed the tree and blew the top out the guys that have them now love them but 60 to 70 percent accurate doesn't please me like them.

Glad you got a nice one,to me it dont matter, never had a ped tree me a coon. And most stud dogs i have hunted with left me wondering how they were granded.

Naw but people will buy them all grand pups a lot faster then my bred behind the born pr pups haha and honestly I can't remember eny litter me or.my brother bred that had culls I'm sellen a lipper bred female rightnow pr ped dog threw a good litter of pups will tree a coon just her traits and this nailor dogs traits want match up for breeding so I have no use for her but I bet if I put mojo bred etc I would of already sold her haha not bashing mojo just sayen titles sell dogs nowdays not the dog itself.

I agree when selling pups title mean alot ,but i would rather follow a coondog through the woods than a title.just me.and remember one of the best reproducers ever was not titled .the old clover dog

Posted by slobbermouth21 on 12-17-2012 12:25 AM:

Only clover dog I know of really is stylish clover my bitch dog goes back to him a few times haven't really hunted around the white and black colored clover dogsaround here if that's what your talken about when I started hunting in 96 I was five I had a son out a lipper Jr and that was my last heavy titled dog until now still have the lipper blood just a lot of pr meat dogs in the ped it just to me wouldn't cross good on the nailor dog herd a lot of people do it though

True, I feel that way too. As far a selling pups...personally, I'd leave that big job up to someone else. Never cared much about raising and selling pups. I like hunting. Not messing around!

I agree but if I breed to get me a new dog I don't want to have to give the rest away for deer dogs because they wasn't high class walker dogs luckily this last batch of pups I had I had people already wanting one or two befor they hit the grown but it was )because they knew me and knew I ain't the type of person to pawn bs on people got me a little male dog off of that gonna fool mith in a few months only late bloomer out of the bunch but boy is he a tracking fool when you let him out to run most of the litters people brag about today out of so and so 20 years ago that litter would of prolly been killed befor they got old enough to hunt Peta and stuff put a stop to that kind of cull system though. Haha winkwink.

And I don't me pr as in pr brood bitches I hate seeing brood gyp forsale seen acouple on here that had brood bitches forsale and in the pic the dog has never been hunted don't know her faults and most look skittish and scard and that's prolly how the pups will turn out skittish little culls

Titles help sell the pups but don't make them any better dogs.

Like you, I've seen way more ALL-GRAND culls then dogs with less titles on their pedigrees, yet I believe their is a reason behind it. I would say a high percentage of your ALL-GRAND culls were from crosses where the breeder bred strictly for his/her PEDIGREE, instead of his/her ABILITIES.

How about ALL GRAND AND ALL COONDOGS some of us are lucky enough to have the best of both. Have hunted 3 generations of these hounds have not turned a sorry one loose yet. Just made the 4 generation cross over SOMEWHERES STYLISH LEGEND my female is off DEACON and CHLOE CHEYYENNE. HAVE YOU GUYS SEEN THESE NAMES BEFORE. My point is that you can get both.

Uh, oh he's telling another one. All pups are great world beaters? I'll bet I could find faults with plenty of them. You sound like you are fixing to start running a STUD dog add. Or running for congress.

Haha doesn't bother me thinken about mixen this.nailor and lipper togeather and line breeding it so ill never own one of.his dogs some of the traits match up and some don't is.why I'm not.sure on it last two dogs of this blood I owned hunted like this nailor dog just this nailor dog has more mouth about 110 bpm on tree and this female 70ish her mom was about 90 bpm and her dad was about 80 bpm she is mostly lipper but also goes back to two of the best no big name dogs crank it up and rummie

Id say 99% or the dogs ive ever seen in the woods were pr.Id say 75% of them couldnt tree a coon. Not sure why.Ive owned one all grand dog.It is a consistant coondog and is priceless to me.Id be willing to bet there not all like this one but thats just what ive seen.A good coondog is what i like.

ARE YOU TRYING TO BE SMART. IF YOU CANT AFFORD ONE IM SURE U CAN BUY ONE LATER, BUT YOU WOULD HAVE TO TAKE OUT A LOAN. BUT IF I CAN HELP NO ONE WITH ATTITUDE YOU HAVE WILL BE ABLE TO AFFORD ONE OF MY PUPS..

I forgot what do you mean by another one, i have a good rep for telling it like it is, do you? The hounds i hunt speak for themselves and i would care for your opinion if you where buying the food for them but your not. SOME PEOPLE ARE JUST STUPID AND YOU CANT FIX STUPID.

Posted by slobbermouth21 on 12-18-2012 05:03 AM:

I could afford one I just like breeding my own stuff. And yes a lot of pr dog you see in a ped are off pr brood gyps or people wasn't selective if your selective then you will prolly.end up with what you want but.if you just breed for titles you will end up with a lot more culls then ok dogs I've sold dogs for high money befor been offers a lot of money for some of my dogs I've won a truck load of tropheys off my harry and lipper Jr dog that died a few years back but own 3 generations off this dog also all pr and night champions.

Didn't mean to offend you but since you think I'm stupid I think you are stretching the truth. No one, I repeat, no one has had a 100% success rate with breeding or raising dogs. If u want us to believe that you are barking up the wrong tree here. U are saying you are THE best at having the best? I doubt that very seriously... Go back an re read your original post. And yes, I too have a stellar reputation. The only difference here is I tell it like it is, not how You want it to be!!! I too have an all grand dog that is a coon dog and looks good. I've also had pr dogs that would hunt and make both of ours look sick too.

Our dog that won the 2008 WV State Hunt his whole pedigree was nothing but pr dogs. I don't care if they are all grand or just pr as long as they tree coons.
