yea i watched it i been around alot of amish over the yrs never heard of this from what i have learn about them the bishop more less tells them what they can and can not do im going to call my ole amish buddy roman out in indiana and ask him what he thinks i think its pretty cool jmo

yes sir he does and his 1 daughter has 1 also the amish out in that area seem to live alittle differnt my buddy and his wife has known them longer than me they stayed at thier house when we were at the sale offer to let me and my son stay also but we stayed at the sale barn to look after the horse we took to the sale he also said for us to come out and vist after he gets his crops in his 1 boy jumped the fence he drives a car from what i get out of it that colony dont shun them if they chose to live like us english people as they refer to call us roman and is family are the nicest amish ive met ive dealed with them in ohio and maryland they beat them all

id say your right brush roger helms called me if i was watching it told him i watched it last nite he said he neer thought the amish was like that i told him thats pretty far fetched for amish i think hes going to really get into that show cant get him out the house to go coon hunting told him he gonna get bed sores layin in the house talkin on telephone all day everyday lol

I used to train and shoe horses. I started dealing with the amish when I was around 20. I am freinds with different clicks. One reasently decided to allow each family to have a tractor. They also hire people to transport them if they have to travel a long distance.
The second click some have phones in the milk parlor or under a foot tub in the pasture.
The third click does not have phones and uses mailing letters to contact me. They will not work out if it is to far to drive their buggy. They will not use tractors. They will hire a transport driver if extreme emergancies require it. They are still old order amish.
The fourth hire drivers to take them to jobs. Have cell phones if they have a business. Use LP gas for heat, lights, freezers and frig's.
Each click has to become more modrenized based on where they live and what they have to do to live.

there like us ole buddy some are onery as the devil and some are good never was around the 1s up in lancaster but at the big horse sale i talked to some from tn ark not sure but talked to 2 of them said they were from mn i think

I'M NOT 100% SURE ABOUT SSN. BUT I DO KNOW FOR SURE THEY PAY NO WORKERS COMP ON THEIR EMPLOYEES. THAT ALONE MAKES AN UNLEVEL PLAYING FIELD IN THE BUSINESS FIELD. THEY COME INTO W.V. AND BID ON TIMBER TRACTS. WITHOUT HAVING TO PAY WORKERS COMP, MAKES THEM LOW BIDDER ON ALMOST EVERY TRACT. THE STATE WILL FINE US IF WE DON;T PAY INTO THE FUND, BUT THE AMISH ARE NOT REQUIRED. ALSO, THEY DON'T PAY INCOME TAX, OR FROM A FEW YEARS BACK, THEY WEREN'T REQUIRED TO REGISTER FOR THE DRAFT. THAT'S WHEN " THE CONSCIENTOUS OBJECTOR" BECAME A DRAFT DEFERMENT. just helped a buddy of mine reset shoes on a couple of his belgium 1 pretty easy to do the other 1 is a butt head he fights you all the way you work on his frt feet he lay down in the stocks on ya boy was grinding 1 of his frt feet he reached down try to bite him hes just plain onery we use a grinder instead of a rasp to level thier foot and round it up after we but the shoe on and gt clinched lots faster and easier

The amish pay federal, state, county, road and property tax. They do not pay medicare, social security,edication,unemployement or workmans comp. Because they do not use any of these items.

dont know why but in indiana they have to have tags on thier buggys like we do our cars

probly not they do most thier own doctoring if its really bad depends on what it is they might go to our hospital
