How many got their money honestly and morally? There certainly has been a lot of worker pension monies that seem to end up in one of these "top money earner's" accounts. I am sure there are some top money earners that have earned their money but there are plenty of worthless managers that mismanage their companies into bankrupcy and then, get bonusses for doing it.

Look at the folks on Wall Street that caused the present reccesion. Do they deserve the money they get? Why shouldn't they pay top taxes?

Legislating morality? I thought that was a no-no for liberals. I've always wondered how Mr. Obama could say "that's above my pay grade" when asked "when does life begin?", yet is perfectly capable of determining someone's "fair share".

Do you have documentation for that?

Are you suggesting separate tax rates based on money earned ethically verses money earned unethically, instead of being based on level of income? Are you ok with folks being 1%ers if they prove they "earned their money"? What rates do you suggest for each category?

There is talk about my Union pension funds to be loaned to the city of Chicago to upgrade their infra-structure instead of then borrowing the money from Wall Street. It could be a good deal.

I would say both Rance. Rich not paying their share and the government not cutting spending. Such as lazy people not getting off their backside and getting some kind of work.

I'D SAY A FLAT TAX, NO DEDUCTIONS. LET EVERYONE HAVE A DOG IN THE FIGHT. TAKE SOCIAL SECURITY OUT OF ALL INCOME UP TO $200,000. YOU COULD STILL INVEST IN BEFORE AND AFTER TAXES. THAT WOULD, IN MY ESTIMATION, SURE UP A COUPLE OF SYSTEMS. AS FOR MEDICARE, WE NEED SOME WATCH DOG GROUPS TO STOP AND DUE AWAY WITH THE FRAUD IN THE SYSTEM. WHEN AND IF THEY UNCOVER WRONG DOING, BORE THE AUGER. TAKE THE COMPANY OUT OF THEIR CONTROL, AND INSTILL A SENSE OF PRIDE BACK INTO BUSINESS, INSTEAD OF HOSING EVERYONE AND THE GOOD ONES TWICE. GRANTED, EVERY BUSINESS IS NOT UNDERHANDED, BUT THERE ARE SOME THAT NEED WATCHING.

Do away with progressive tax brackets?

oh benny, you just chopping at the bit for some EXPROPRIATION, ain't ya. so sad you weren't around in 1920 russia. itch, itch, itching to give somebody a HAIRCUT. to bad the democommies policies are ACTUALLY facilitating the expropriation from the middle to the top. i suppose you'll never understand relativity extends to the economy and wealth distribution just like physics.

but anyhoo, been thinking, trying to use commiecrat mislogic - i have a plan for the deficit reduction. there are about 300 million people in the US. i'd guess about 250 million of them go to get regular hair cuts, and i think we can all agree that a haircut is really not a necessity, but a luxury. the deficit is just over a trillion a year, which i think is a thousand billion. 4 times 250million is a billion. so now we need that thousand billion, don't we. so we add a haircut tax!!! i mean, pretty much everybody has hair if some sort, so it's dang near perfect. the haircut tax would be about $400 per haircut(assuming the average person gets 10 hair cuts per year). as from what i have been able to ascertain from this board over the years, the tonsorial artists(barbers) generally tend to be left leaning at the least, and full blown communists in some cases, so they would be more then happy to be the unpaid tax collectors of the above proposed tax, you know, just for the thrill of expropriation.
but, you say, some people wouldn't pay that for a haircut, so it won't necessarily produce the needed revenue. but, you also say, some folks make their living giving haircuts and when people won't pay that for them so they won't be able to make a living. ah, to hell with that too. remember, i'm using commiecrat mislogic here, with their totalitarian bent- if they try to avoid going and getting the haircut to avoid the tax(if they go buy a flobee or something, maybe go crystal gayle), we can pass and law or make a regulation that MANDATES they get at least 10 haircuts per year or face jail or a fine equal to what the taxes($4000) would be on the said 10 haircuts. or how about a one time purchase tax of about 4000 dollars on the flobee, or even razors if they try to go bald, with an annual "personal hair care property tax" for owning the said hair care device of 4000 dollars a year, thereby making there be no advantage of doing it yourself so the barbers can still be "busy, busy".

i could go on and on playing the "unintended consequences" game , round and round, but why. just go for it without any forethought like the commiecrats do. say at least we "did" something, "progressed" so to speak, and then we'll deal with and "progress" from there in the future.

the world of directed mandates, selective laws, arbitrary decisions, ain't it sweet.

hey benny, your philosophical soulmate, old harry belafonte, i understand said bo should just "lock up" all the dissenters to the commie movement. didn't i say it would come down to that, it ALWAYS has- historically. harry just saying what's always going through the "little dictators" heads. i suppose your ready for that also- those of us unfit or unwilling to become "communist man" to be subjugated, relegated, and eliminated.
