3 year old black and tan question

My uncle has a male 3 yr old an he's only been hunted a couple of times I took him last night and he treed a possium.first ever he's treed.think he will pick up on anything or is he to old let me know what you think.

If he treed a possum, then he will tree coon, just got to hunt him, and hunt him, and hunt him. It will seem like training a pup, but then all of a sudden he will put it all together.
