GOV. BAILOUT OF HOSTESS

Hostess Bakery plants shut down on Friday, the result, of a union strike idling some 18,000 workers. The Obama administration will hire most all of these displaced employees. The State Department will hire the Twinkies, the Secret Service the Ho Hos, the generals will sleep with the Cupcakes and all the Ding Dongs are going to Congress!!

Unions

Not a big fan of the unions but, these money problems have been an issue for quite sometime. A while back the union loaned the company a bunch of money from thier retirement funds with the understanding that it would be paid back when the compant became profittable again. Now they are closing the doors and wanting a bounous for it without repaying the loan. If that were my retirement Id be upset and consider the CEO a thief for taking the "bonous" and want him prosocuted for it. Im sure there is some info that Im missing but there are always two sides to every story and it seems that I havent seen much about the unions side on this.

I thought this whole deal was about some company screwing it's workers out of their retirement funds and it turns out to be true. The big trend in buisiness is to screw the workers out of their retirement funds and for the company's CEO to put the money in an off-shore account. THey don't even pay a fair share of taxes on the money.

Illinois unfunded pension liability hits 96.8 billion. Hows that for the government run 'business' in your state Dave. Let's look at the past representation and lay blame on the party in charge.

Not a union or anti-union topic, seems more about right and wrong. Company have been screwing this country for a while and some fools agree with them till it hits home.

if you work for a good company and owners you don't need a union! Take your weekly union dues and put them in the bank and you will probably have more money at retirement.

You mean to tell me the very union that was to protect the best interests of their members signed a deal that gambled away their retirement funds?

I'd say this is closer to the truth as a whole...

P.S. If this is suppose to be a 'family owned business'... that man has a lot of family members.

Preacher, try not to get them thinking. Might hurt someone.
