I only use the heat gear. If I wear any performance underwear for winter, I sweat to death. Heck, I hardly ever wear a coat. Almost all winter, I wear t-shirt, sweat shirt, a simple hooded parka with a shirt jacket over top of that, and I still sweat!

On really windy nights, I may break out my old Wick coat, but I really don't wear it much.

I know if I wore the ECW brand coon hunting I would have heat stroke.lol

money well spent

for yrs i wanted to try some but there was no way in hell i was gonna pay $160 for long johns and a shirt. this yr i broke down and bought some on sale but still $140 for the real under armor brand 4.0 brutal cold base layer.
i could feel something kicking me in the azzz as i went through the checkout line and gave them that kind of money for under wear. after wearing it several cold nights hunting i wish i had bought the stuff yrs ago.
stay warm and no sweating at all.
if i ever find some socks made from the stuff i'll buy some in a heart beat.
buy it one size larger then you wear, it still fits like a second skin. wont shrink when washed either.

I completly agree with toe cutter, however, if you are going to do some walking I would go with the 3.0. I use a base layer sock made of the same material as underarmor along with Smartwool socks, they also have different weights for different activities and temps.

Toe cutter i think they actually got a sock out now. I was the same way about buying the stuff. My nephew had 3 or 4 pair of them i thought he was nuts He gave me a pair to wear one night and i was buying a set 2 days later. To look at it you think no way this keeps you warm by the end of the night i left my coat in the truck and was just walking around in my hooded sweat shirt and bibs and still was warm as heck. I know red head has a off brand at bass pro but yet to try it. If it's as good i'll buy them cause their way cheaper but if their not i'll spend the extra for under armour cause their worth every penny.

just don't ever use fabric softener or dryer sheets when you wash or dry under armour type materials.

fabric softener or dryer sheets will plug up the 'pores' and not allow it to breathe and work effectively
