Special Hounds. Post Yours

This hound is the one that got me started and is the one whom I still judge other hounds by. Me and her spent many a long nights in the woods and driving all over this country. I had her back when I was in High School. She was even in my senior pic. Went to school with me many of days when I would finish hunting and didnt have enough time to get her back to the house. She died when I was in Iraq and my Dad wouldnt tell me till I got home. And to top it off, She is the only dog he has ever buried and put a tombstone up for.
GRNITECH CH "PR" Country Boy's Cotton

Everybody post your pics of that special dog you have or had.

She's far from perfect, but she's a been a DANDY!!! She's getting up in her years but she's been a pleasure to own/hunt, won us some hunts, and threw some nice pups as well!!! WHEN YOU WALK TO HER, YOU EXPECT TO SEE A COON!!

Timber showed me what a hard hunting, track driving and pressure tree dog. I still think he was the best that I have hunted with. I am positive that my father was the best handler.

CH 'PR' Herring's Pine Cone Chance

I purchased her at 15 months old from Lester Greene, she died here and I am fortunate to own her daughter. My sons and I had alot of fun hunting her.

GRNITECH PKC SCH 'PR' Glancy's KY Foot was one of those once in a lifetime hounds, I don't know if he's irreplaceable but we haven't found one that could replace him yet.

yup, both of them were wide open with no quit...

we owed tille and mable later on and really enjoyed both. tillie was my fav and Mable Kevins favorite.

We traded streak to the original owner of Mable in Michigan and she did great up north with all those big coons.

Clint, do you still got that bloodline that shows Diamond? Cotton was not the reproducer her mom was. Was wondering if Streak got that ability? Also, I heard you were running curs now?

No good picture, but mine is "PR" Blake's Ridge Rockin Shaggy. I have owned him since he was 3 months old, and trained him every step of the way. he was my first hound ever, and will die here with me, He is the one hound on my lot that is not for sale. I have entered him in three hunts, and been lucky enough to get two first, one at the 2011 Ohio St Ch and another at the 2012 Bluetick days. He's a coon dog from sundown to sunup

I have frozen semen from charley creek edge who is a grand pup from diamond out of Echo lake Mable.

I raised litters from Streak, Tillie and Mable, maybe 50 pups total. Mable was the only one that produced pups for me that made it however odds were low. The Charley Creek Edge dog is as good as they get and the only awesome dog i saw produced by any of Diamonds pups. I had a female from Mable and Yadkin river cruise that was good but silent. she died with cancer at 5 yrs and was the last hound i owned. overall, diamond produced great pups that couldn't reproduce for the most part.

I got into curs for a few years but never found anything that kept me hunting. I don't own a dog these days. what are you guys hunting?

Clint, I wish her pups could have reproduced like she did. Well I have since switched over to redbones. Found a little female that reminds me alot of Cotton. I also have another female that is Streak remade man. I couldnt find anything in the walker breed anymore that suited me.
