Lots of coons

I would like to find a place with lots of coons. What part of the country has a large population of coons? They are few and far between here. I would like to take my young dog and let him taste a few.

I know I'm far from you but southeast Nebraska has a ton of coons! That's all you see anymore on the side of the road

Michigan Indiana Ohio....I would start there. The problem is finding private land that isn't in QDM or something like it. These deer hunters are making it impossible to find anywhere to free cast a dog. At least right around me. I have a few places, and I can hunt em. I have to kill everything I tree. Not a problem, but if I do that what will I tree next year? Anyhow, sorry to rant. Those three states probably have the most coon.

I've hunted in Michigan, around imlay city coons are thick there, also hunted some in Canada, most coons I've ever seen there !

Never hunted in Canada. I would imagine you are right. Probably bigger too?

Some of the biggest I've ever seen, but I'm use to a small, thin coon population anything around here over 12 to 15 pounds is big to us !

Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and Illinois all have an above average coon population and most of the hunting is pretty nice walking as well!!
