I think you are thinking of the Bushnell backtrack. I have one and will not leave the truck without it. I mark the truck on the Garmin dog tracker and the backtrack and use one just as much as the other.

Garmin does it all but think you may be asking about the Bushnell Backtrack and it does work to get you back to where you started without a lot of bells & whistles to get confused with.

yes

Yes I was talking about the bushnell...I was holding my garmin etrex while posting that....the etrex sucks is the reason I was asking....thanks....so yall get pretty good signal diwn deep in the woods???

Never loose signal once I get signal. It seems to take a little bit to get signal but I turn it on and put it on the hood of my truck while I am getting ready and it works just fine the rest of the night. It will work 999 miles from the spot you mark.

poking thru old threads and seen this one . i have the backtrack i bought on a whim and am extreemly pleased with it . i used it when i went and picked up a pup marked the house , and it stayed up and in touch for the whole trip 350 mile round trip . i use the heck out of mine all the time since i've moved into unfamilier territory and new woods .

I am blessed with a lot of nice hardwood spots to hunt really don't have to hunt in the pines.

my gps has saved me several times and it has tried to drive me crazy many times too. i've let it lock on in the area i'm hunting and then turned it off to save battery. the dogs treed and i turned it back on. it didn't lock until i was at the tree and shinning. i was ready to smash it against a tree. that wasn't the only time either. i wish it used c cells too. the AAs don't last long enough.

i have one and i wont leave the truck without it.they are simple to use and will get you back to the truck even in unfamiliar territory.mine hasnt been too hard on batteries i usually mark the truck when i leave to go to the dogs and turn it off till i get ready to come back.i get a general direction when i start back and check it once and awhile to make sure im goin the right way.best 50 bucks ive spent in awhile
