A lot of times when they are young and start Treeing hard they don't really know how to channel that energy. The above post is right! Don't let it get out of hand. John Wick would tell you the time to correct a problem is when it starts. Stinging type switch to the face might not hurt if it continues.

About the only thing your ever gonna do is light break the dog when your not in sight she will still do it just want when you get there I wouldn't ever shock a dog on the tree for enything even if it trees a possum.

Cody is right. I have broken a few YOUNG face barkers. Two were getting near to the next step. When they are young like that I get in to the tree quick. I have a small stick, switch whatever you want to call it. I DON'T use a club. All I do is when they throw their head I tap them (that's right, I said, tap them) on the knowledge bump on their noggin. What it does is break their concentration from the dog back to treeing. Occassionally it might take a couple of quick taps. I have only used the E collar once and it was on a light setting. They get "a little praise" when they go back to treeing and told "no" when they focus back on the other dog. The dog that the E collar was used on was getting "lite broke" and we could hear him when he tossed his head. Today he is a straight up TREE dog that pays no mind to the other dog.
