In all honesty there is No hunting in Midland Texas at all!!! Not a tree in sight taller than your head and very very very few of thoughs. Not to mention any hunting at all is about 300 miles away. You might shoot a rattle snake or a coyote but that's it. No public land anywhere near that hole of a town. It's truly a desert out there. Your company must not like you very much to send you out there. Good luck! Leave your coonhounds at home and buy a pit bull for a guard dog. That place sucks and all that's around it. I hope and pray I never ever have to go out there again and that's the truth!

Midland, TX

Went there once on a dove hunt. There was some deer there and a ton of jack rabbits other than that just holding the world together. Nearest thing to a wasteland that I have encountered.

I think there maybe some coonhunters down around the San Angelo - Mertzon area.

There are some but that 300 miles away. It took me 16 hours to get from my house in Waco to El paso. I drove and drove and drove. Saw a truck stop in Midland and it said on a sign by the bathroom "you are here on the map". My God I was only half way. El paso was another 8 hours away. I started to turn around and go home. When I finally got to El paso it looked worse off than Midland. I went to the Walmart and all the signs in Walmart were in Spanish. I looked around and I was the only white guy in there. I wondered why the greeter tried to had me a knife when I went in... She said something in Spanish I didn't understand. All I got was Si, and Obama! When I tried to check out I handed the lady a 20 and she looked at it like she had never seen cash money before. Everybody else had a Govt credit card they were paying with. What a hell hole!!! From about San Antonio south , buddy your are way out there on a limb I'm here to tell ya.
