Poll For Missouri Coon Hunters

SHOW-ME SHOWDOWN POINTS

Changes have been voted on for 2013 Show-Me Showdown point system. The new system will mirror the MCHF point system. My question to the Missouri coon hunters is this:

Would it be sufficient if the handler that enters a dog in a hunt/show just write "STATE" on their entry slip to signify they are a member of the State Coon Hunters of Missouri so the club official that fills out the hunt report can include them on the report and assign the proper points?

or

Is it necessary to assign numbers to every member and that member must write the number on his entry slip in order to receive his points?

Currently State members aren't assigned a number and every hunt report that comes in I check each name on the report to see if they are a member or not. Non members just aren't awarded points and the people who are members are awarded their points.
I'm not convinced each member has to have a personal number simply because if you forget your number or forget to write it on your entry slip you don't get credit for the points that night. Also keep in mind it costs more to print membership cards with numbers.

Please let me know your thoughts!

Harry,
I'm for whatever is easier for you. I think you have enough on your plate as it is I don't see why you would need to spend time on a numbering system. Just putting "STATE" on the entry slip should be sufficient as you will have to double check their membership status either way. It should also serve to help clean up the hunt reports.

Save all that stamp money and use it towards a hunt prize or something of that nature.

Harry, I think that simpler is better. Just writing STATE seems simpler to me.

State is the easy way!! But it should be known That if u don't write " state" on your slip u will not get points. This way the clubs do not have go through all the score cards to see who gets points and who dont. But it's not fair to the people who are members for non members to be getting points that the members deserve. I hope this makes sence!!!

Example- joe is high scoring dog and gets 100pts but is not a member and I won second and I'm a member and only get 90. I think I should get the 100 for paying my membership. Just a thought.
