How to break dog off skunks?

Need help bad got a dog that will catch a skunk or two every night you hunt him. The only thing he'll mess with other than a coon. Tryed everything I can think of.

Send him here. We ain't got skunks. But we got got armadillos and possums and deer for trash. I would be glad to put a boot in his ass for you. I can't hunt in summer due to alligaters . Maybe we can work out a deal.

normaly our dogs don't mess with them after the first time However i have heard of dogs that will kill skunks and not think twice of it. our male would hunt porcupines and he did it for a long time.... finally we put the shock collar on him and the one time he had it on the ground an when we got to him and we let him have it!!!! he got shocked really hard and then we caught another one turned it loose in our field and when he went up to it we let him have it!! he didn't even want to go back to it!!! so far he now has been hunting coons and no porkies so maybe if you can get a skunk on the ground let your dog go into it and shck him and yell at him and let him NO and shock him... hope this helps.

I had one that would mess with them. Caught him with one and fried him at the high setting. He never touched one again but one night I cut him and he come back and stood behind me growling towards the woods. Spooked me bad until a skunk walked out! Laughed my butt off!

Well, you see here, what you do is catch a live skunk with your bare hands and then kill it. Then follow this step by step process:

1. Gut it and shove it over the dogs head for some reason, and make sure it can't breath during this time.
2. Pull the skunk off and jam it up the dogs butt.
3. Put the dog in a barrel with a bunch of rocks and roll it down a hill for a while.
4. Then let the dog out of the barrel, pull the skunk out of its butt, and then beat him with the dead skunk until you are tired.

LOL Just so you all know that was all a joke, but you will hear a bunch of dumb things similar to that. I would recommend a shock collar and whenever that hound shows any interest in a skunk give him and TT tickle.

Had a walker that I never did break off skunks. The only thing the e-collar did was make her tear into them all that harder. I did get her to quit baying at them and sucking the other hounds in, she would just kill them and go back to hunting coon. Towards to end she wouldn't get sprayed that often.

Thanks, I couldn't help it. These sort of posts usually end with all sorts of crazy stuff similar to that. I think it is even funnier when people are serious writing stuff like that. I hate the smell of a skunk and I have a buddy that has a bluetick that will do really well staying away from skunks but then just can't resist the urge to kill another one. I think TT is the best method, but like humans, some dogs just have an irresistible urge to do something stupid.

This dog belongs to a buddy of mine. I've seen him shock him on high setting several times last night he brought the skunk back and dropped it at the truck. This is the only off game he fools with but it's a bad problem.

There is another brilliant one I should add to my list. I am all for disciplining hounds, but the punishment has to fit the crime and the hound has to be able to understand what it did wrong.

I don't know what to say about that, but I have yet to see a dog that will stay on its feet with a charged Tri-Tronics on level six. I bought mine shortly after I started hunting in the daylight and my hound would bump up deer and run them. Dropped her maybe twice on level six and haven't had a problem since.

I did this and had to have the vet surgicaly remove the skunk (guess I shoved it too hard )also my wife divorced me because I went to bed that night and stunk the house up, my dog must have liked it because now every time it trees or catches something it bends over and spreads its legs roflmao
