!!!WARNING!!!POLITICAL THREAD!!!WARNING!!!
Which U.K.C. policy (Nite Hunt or Show) is the most mis-used, most mis-understood, or most obsolete?
I had to abandon the political discussion forum that I frequent, all they wanted to do was talk coondogs!

Well since it's a political thread what I hear about the Bench Shows is that it's all political and you have to be in the circle if you want to win. In the hunts there is someone on here every day want's to change some rule they don't like or been cheated, going to hunt a different KC. So I guess the rules and formats for both Bench shows and Nite hunts are equally mis-used ,mis- understood, or obsolete, and maybe too political unless you win. LOL!

Lots of folks think as long as they wait the min out to strike. They can't be minused for babbling. As for babbling. That rule only once in a blue moon is enforced nowdays. I know some judges will but most want. The 100 strike dog is outta control. Its so bad. Id like to have one . Maybe its just around here but I tell ya what. Im plum amazed if you turn 4 dogs loose now and 1 or 2 or 3 ain't barking like crazy from the get go.

We seem to have strayed from the topic. Since there was little response to the first question, I'll pose another. What U.K.C. policy change (Nite Hunt, Show, etc.) would you like to see?
No politics on a hunting forum.

Discussing the desire to change or affect a policy, hmm, sure sounds political to me.
With the dismal response to the first two queries concerning the policies of U.K.C., lets switch gears. What is your policy on choosing an appropriate dog feed?
quote:Preacher, I been a catching shrimp most every night the tide gits right. We can bait shrimp around here with a high protien 50% menhaden fish meal and to make it sink we mix it with kaolin clay and make a pady. My girlfriend has some house dogs so therefore she is a turd counter. Those house dogs scratch the paint off the trailerhouse door to get outide when I am mixing up that meal in order to eat some , even though they got free acess to cornfree $1.10 a pound dogfeed. Anyway, a clod always manages to hit the ground and them housedog cockers put coondog to shame the way they can scap over it. Anyway, the next morning you ain't got to worry if they hit the pad, you can kick that turd out the trailorhouse door. I say they sh-t a brick. So if you got hard times and feed cheap feed, a bag of Kaolin cost $3 for 50 #. Probably a tablespoon shook up on top would do , if not, add some 50% menhaden fishmeal that cost $50 for 50# but only use a teaspoon mixed with the clay, and use the other 49 lbs next spring in your garden. Just trying to promote Organic Gardening here too Preacher just to be Political correct.

I hate automatic strike dogs. There usually barkin at the other dogs.Id ashamed to own one.I buy a feed that i can get local and doesnt effect my dogs performance.I use to try and buy cheap feed but i realised if i exspect the best of my dogs i better feed them the best i can find.Works out good for me and them
I would not feed cheap feed if it made automatic strike dogs. I would not feed cheap feed if if made Mee too dogs either. I would not feed a twenty dollar lobster and caviar if it made a dog deaf that could not hear a dog strike . Deaf has no place in my kennel. Be struck or hear him, get there and take over and out run that dog is what I say. Of course, that is hard to do if the runners have been killed off and their is nothing left but bucket coons (name james and Jimmy and joe) to hear a bark a time or two and tree on.
i reckon i feed cheap dog feed according to some folks, but my dogs will hunt all night and they stay slick.i aint ever looked to see whats in the dog feed that i feed, but i bet theirs several bushels of corn in it.lol
quote:I feed a little bit more of a good diamond maintenance dogfeed when I hunt them hard and as ya'll can tell I hunt marsh that might take hours to bring a coon out of. When they lay up in summer I feed less and less of it till they getting fat on a cup a day. I don't know about you but when I give my dogs a cup and I know their belly is rubbing their backbone I know it is time to change to a cheap 17-10 and feed twice as much just to put something in their belly. Can you imagine being in prison and only rationed one cup a day? It just ain't right to cut a dogs feed down to about nothing.
