Northern Indiana Coon Hunters, Please help ....

Please pass the word, invite all of your friends.... We are having a benefit for Mike Vanlandingham on November 3, 2012. Mike has been diagnosed with cancer and is currently undergoing both Chemo and Radiation treatments. Mike is a great guy, a good friend to many, and is a great club member. He supports several clubs in the area, always is willing to guide or judge as needed be it a coon hunt, squirrel hunt, or coon hunt.

Plans are still being made, but we will be having a free will offering type dinner (trust me we will feed ya good), an auction that will appeal to the WHOLE family, so bring the wife, girlfriend, kids...etc, and afterwards we are going to have a non-registry sanctioned "buddy" hunt.

If we can get enough interest, we might fire up the squirrel dogs and have a squirrel hunt in the afternoon. We will supply the squirrel dogs, you bring the gun and ammo.....

Stay tuned for more information as we firm up the plans. If you are willing to help with this event to support Mike during his time of need, let me know....

If you are reading this and would like to donate items to the auction, by all means let me know. I want to be able to help Mike out and show this community what coon hunting and competition hunting is all about......fellowship, and there is no better reason for us all to come together than for one of our own.

I had no idea Mike was sick, he is a great guy, always willing to help anyone, now it's time For us to turn the table and help Mike........I am in, ANYTHING I can do to help.........guide, kitchen help, etc........I will spread the word, ...........Tim

Thanks man... I still need to call you about the stud fee donation. We will certainly take any and all donations!

Jeremy the event will be at the Silver Lake clubhouse. I'll post directions later as we get close and figure out what time we are gonna start the feast.

We are in the early stages of planning for this event....Just want to make sure that everyone circles the date on the calendar!

If you look up the definition to friend I'm sure there is a picture of Mike. He doesn't know a stranger and if you're not friends with him yet show up you will be when you leave.

mike is one heck of a guy!!! not only does he help out with the coon hound sport but with beagles and squirrel dogs! A well rounded sportsmen! I will be attending this event!

Man, the outpouring is GREAT.

We now have five different clubs in this area jumping onboard to help with this effort!!

We are going to be roasting a hog, and ramping up to feed at least 200 people! (we will have food to spare).

Donations for the silent auction are pouring in as well. We are going to have everything from quilts to loads of firewood for sale, along with gas cards and gift certificates from MANY businesses.

Please set NOVEMBER 3 aside on your calendar. Plan on coming to Silver Lake Indiana for a good time, good food, and to help support one of our own.

If you can't make it, and would like to make a financial contribution, or even send an item for the auction, please feel free to contact me and we can make arrangements.

I talked to Mike this weekend, and he is starting his radiation treatments this week.....

We had an organizational meeting last night for the fundraiser for Mike. I have to say the outpouring from the coon hunting community is humbling.

Okay....we are going to start feeding everyone at 5:00 PM. Meal will be free offering, but please come prepared to do a little Christmas shopping.... judging from the list of donations for the silent auction, and for the live auction...we are going to have something for EVERY member of the family! So bring your family on November 3, 2012 at 5:00 PM to the Sportsmen and Farmers Conservation Club....

We have a few "big ticket" items that we will be auctioning off in a live auction as well...so come early and bid often...this is a GREAT Cause!
