Ask yourself these ?'s

I see some of the questions and statements on here and its crazy.

This is not about Bryan Whitted, Jody Jessup, Rick Strecth, or Frisky. Its about the ?'s and statements I've seen about the world hunt and how people don't know the rules.

But Ask yourself these questions

Do I have a UKC Rulebook? If you don't get one.

Do I know how to apply the rules when situations arise. If you don't, then you need a rulebook.

How would it feel to be in the final four? If you said great then, you're like all the rest of us. Happy to be there.

How would you feel if you had minus points and still came out on top. If you said great then you are just like the rest of us who look forward to winning the world one day.

Guys ask yourself these questions and see what your answer is. We have rules in this for a reason. They are a standard to go by to decide a winner. That final four was no different than a regular weekend hunt. The same rules apply. If any of the dogs would have had 400- they would have been out. Those are the rules. Circle points apply to trees that can't be seen completely and a coon could be present or if it is a den tree. Some of you will find anything to pull at. But sit back and imagine yourself in the world hunt. And how you would like things to go. We would all like to destroy a cast like Mr. Clean did a few years ago. But it doesn't always happen like that. Don't be so quick to want change the rules are wish it was this way instead of that way. The only difference in that was. Is it was the world hunt and certian rules apply for this hunt to crown a champion. The basis of all this is to get a rule book and educate yourself on the rules and how they apply when situation arise. And you won't have to get on this forum asking ?'s that are stated with the answers set forth by ukc for these hunts. Good luck and see you at the hunts.

Good post

Even when some read and understand the rules, they will get on here and say that isn't right and say how it should be. If they are so smart, the last I knew, there was still a position open. lol

The rules do apply. If at anytime any of those dogs had 400- they would have been scratched. Same as any other hunt. The only thing special about this hunt was. All dogs either Registered, NiteCh, and GrNite, hunt against each other. And the extended time needed if no plus are scored. My main reason for posting to post is someone felt Frisky should not have been allowed to continue hunting after the two hours were up, because she had 200- and shutter had 175-. They don't know the rules. 400- is the limit for being scratched. And no dog reached that. Thank goodness. But people need to know the rules. And there will be less ?'s on scorecards, less headaches for master of hounds and people will save time and gas from not have to go back to the master of hounds for silly reasons.

We don't need that kind of smart Tim... remember there is a large difference between smart, and intelligence. there are many smart A** on here, and many of that many have shown the levels of their intelligence also. I vote no on them obtaining a position..JMO

Rock, I really wasn't serious on my implication. That position needs someone with enough PR to tell a person they are a moron and not have the person get PO'd about. lol

ROFL!!!

OK, now that I'm back in my chair, there is a difference in those that are ignorant of the rules.

Some don't know the rules because of inexperience. It might take some explaining, showing them the rules, or a couple experienced guys telling them. Then, they know it and they probably won't be a problem on that rule, ever again.

The other type of person is the BIG problem. They don't know the rules, on purpose. They think the rules ought to be what THEY want them to be. They don't want to learn them because they have no intention of going by them, anway. The rules are different for their dog, than the other dogs on the cast. You can never change their mind and they are a PITA on most casts they are on, especially when they are losing.

That PITA as you say is nobody but the judges fault, and i can say with a certain amount of confidence, they'd surely understand the scratch rule clearly with their time on my cast, should they want to be that PITA.
