How long have you guys been using this stuff?

Just tried to pick up a bottle of Ivomec at TSC and the plus is all they had. Haven't used it yet and will call my vet before I do but would like feedback on those who have used it.

I wouldn't use Ivomec Plus. I was told the plus is to prevent liver flukes in cattle.

That is what I have found it to be for as well. Ivomec Plus contains a second ingredient, clorsulon, that prevents liver flukes in cattle.

Found a few places that say it is OK for dogs and some say not to.

We have been using the pour on for about 2 yrs...

ivimec

is perfectly ok to use on dogs as long as you measure the dosage properly. Get a syringe from you vet or TSC and the formula is .1 ml per 10 pounds of body weight. Squirt it into their mouth making sure they get it all. If you look at the base ingredient on the back of the box of pills you get from the vet is ivermectin. I've been using it for over 2 years now with no problems. It will save you lots of money. I treat 4 dogs every month and have yet to buy a second bottle. Hope this helps. As an afterthought, I initially had concerns as well so I consulted my vet who said it was perfectly safe just make sure not to overdose. Your vet may tell you different because it takes money out of their pocket. If thats the case I would consider finding another vet.

Ivomec

This is fine for use on dogs. Ivomec plus is what he was asking about. I have been using Normectin for over a year. Its the same as regular Ivomec only cheaper.

I've used IVOMEC for years and never had a problem, BUT never used ivomec PLUS because of the added ingredient for liver flukes. If that is what you are asking.
