OK LA Hunters!!!

A bunch of us are coming down for the World Show and would like to really experience some of Louisana's famous cajiun cooking. Google can only tell you names but not how the food really is so I am hoping there might be a few of you locals who know where the best places to eat are! Would love to hear some feed back! Thanks!!!

Well..I'm not sure how to break the news to you but you will be about 200 miles from good cajun cooking. I can name a bunch of good places to go eat but none that will be authentic cajun.

My sister in law lives in Shreveport and all her cajun cooking comes from a bag called bayou majic!!!

There is a steakhouse over on the boardwalk by Bass Pro Shop that is good. I think the name is Saltgrass. They also have all the normal name brand restaurants...Chili's, Red Lobster..Outback etc.
All of these are on the Bossier City side of the river. A decent all you can eat buffet at Pancho's if you want mexican..it's pretty mild. Another mexican place across the street but can't recall the name. A good bar-b-que place called Podnuh's in that area too.

Or just go to Popeye's and eat fried chicken , red beans and rice, cajun rice, etc.

If you are @ the world and would like to eat on the Shreveport side-not 8 minutes down the road -go to Youree Drive- take a left-they have several eating place: Also shopping for the women-on left side just before u get to youree drive-Several shops..
Longhorn Steak House
Logan's (several entrees)
TGIF
Chick Filet
Golden Corral (buffet style)
Monjunies
Dairy Queen
Sams Eatery
If you cross the Jimmie Davis Bridge-you can see if from where the finals are being held-
Go to barksdale Blvd take a left-Bodacious BBQ-Pizza Hut, several others on that road..

About the closest you'll get to good cajun food is Ralph & Kacoo's , Copeland's, Gumbo to Geaux or Herby K,s. I highly recommend the last two.

Y'all suppose to tell they in the heart of Cajun country. Watch out for the Gators, iyee. Try Shane's on Mansfield rd or the one on Texas St.
